ANALYSIS: A big part of the upcoming final fortnight of the fantasy season is catching up in categories you're lacking in to squeak out as many roto points as you can. So those of you in need of stolen bases should look no further than Andres Gimenez. Gimenez has taken over the everyday shortstop role for the Mets from Amed Rosario and is riding a seven-game hitting streak going 10 for 31 over that period. When Rosario does play, Gimenez has moved to second and third base too and although he's predominately hit in the bottom third of the Mets lineup, Gimenez is paying and hitting effectively.
Gimenez has a solid slash line of .287/.340/.425 and as alluded to, his value comes from his speed with seven stolen bases this season. That's helped Gimenez score 18 runs this year to go along with two homers and 10 RBI. The Mets need a strong finish to the season if they are to reach the playoffs and could look to get more aggressive on the bases, offering up even more stolen base opportunities for Gimenez. Gimenez is on pace for 10 stolen bases over a 60 game season so even if he does just steal 3 more bags, Gimenez will be able to help all fantasy teams over the final two weeks of the season.
