BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Mixed, AL-only Leagues

ANALYSIS: Andrew Bailey will work in tandem with Cam Bedrosian in the Angels’ closer role to start the season, according to manager Mike Scioscia. Bailey, 32, totaled 75 saves across his first three big league seasons with the Athletics, but has struggled to stay afloat over the last four years. He enters 2017 with an ERA north of 5.00 in three of his last four seasons— granted, two of those three campaigns saw him toss fewer than 20 innings, but he has been unproductive nonetheless. As a result, it’s hard to imagine he will be able to hold onto this new job. However, while Bailey is far from appealing in 10- or 12-team leagues, owners in deeper mixed and AL-only formats desperate for saves could take a flier on the once-dominant reliever while he remains in the role.
