BALLER MOVE: Add in AL-Only / Deep / Deep Keeper Leagues
ANALYSIS: Gose seems destined to accumulate his most single-season at-bats this year, and for good reason. In 152 at-bats to date, he has posted a .347 on-base percentage, exponentially higher than that of his first two partial seasons. Gose is known mostly for his speed and base-stealing abilities, but he isn't powerless. The 6'1" lefty won't be looking at any potential 40-40 years, but he did knock out 16 longballs in High-A ball in 2011. Throughout his time in the minors, the Jays's highly-touted outfield prospect put up similar numbers across the board to Reds speedy sensation Billy Hamilton. Like Hamilton, as Gose becomes more comfortable and selective facing major league pitching, he will continue to see an improvement in how often he gets on base, and with it, his stolen base numbers will begin to skyrocket. His speed alone makes him worthy of an add in many formats, assuming he is is the majors for good this time.
For now, Gose has excellent fantasy value in all AL-Only leagues and deep mixed leagues where you have enough spots to compensate for his lack of production in other categories. Going forward, however, he may gain more fantasy value, and is an enticing option in keeper leagues.
