BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 14% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Well, it finally happened. The Cleveland Browns have released Hue Jackson. After winning three games in his last 40 as the head coach, Jackson has been fired and offensive coordinator Todd Haley as well. Word going around is that differing opinions have been an issue, so we’ll see how that team looks for the rest of the year.
On a brighter note for the Cleveland Browns, Baker Mayfield has shown a great deal of promise despite a couple of losses in the past two weeks. David Njoku has been seeing a nice chunk of targets as well as Jarvis Landry. In Week 7 at Tampa Bay, rookie WR Antonio Callaway had just one catch on two targets. Last week against the Steelers, he had five grabs for 36 yards and a touchdown.
The best thing to do if you’re in need of WR help is to go after someone that offers immediate volume. Callaway is someone in a decent situation with a ton of talent, but he’s no more than a stash. If you’re looking for someone to give you immediate production, don’t expect Callaway to be the answer. If you’re getting hit by injuries or bye weeks, Callaway presents more upside than most receivers on the wire. In deeper leagues especially, but again, don’t expect much production right away. If you’ve got the roster spot, Callaway is a nice add for the rest of the season.
