BALLER MOVE: Add in ALL Leagues
OWNED IN: 53% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Wow, Antonio Gates didn't skip a beat. After missing the first four games of the season due to a PED suspension, the 35 year-old kicked off his 2015 campaign in style. The veteran recorded 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns. It's pretty clear that Rivers still really trusts Gates, and will look his way to move the chains and in the endzone.
Gates is easily back in the top tier of tight ends along with Rob Gronkowski, Tyler Eifert, and Travis Kelce. Ladarius Green will still get some targets, but as long as Gates is healthy he is the main tight end. His basketball background makes him lethal in the redzone as he can go up and get the ball with the best of them. His pass protection and blocking skills will help keep him in the lineup as well. It also helps that Rivers' receivers, aside from Keenan Allen, have been a bit banged up. Needless to say, Gates needs to be picked up in all leagues, and the window to buy low on him is probably shut after Monday night's action. Conversely, those who were savvy enough to add him beforehand, might want to try and cash in on this monster outing by selling high.
