BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Veteran infielder Asdrubal Cabrera is showing no signs of slowing down in his age 34 season, finding himself the cleanup hitter for the World Champion Washington Nationals. A .266/.330/.544 slash line and five home runs in 21 games isn't particularly eye-catching, but his 16 RBI so far actually ranks tied-4th among all second baseman. Only six second baseman have hit more home runs than Cabrera too. Cabrera has been a model of consistency throughout his career having played at least 130 games in each of the last nine years.
Since 2011, Cabrera has averaged 18 homers, 70 runs and 70 RBI and has a career .268 batting average. So everything he's doing this year is on par with what he's been doing every year for the last decade. With so many anomalies and injuries this year, having someone who you can just plug into your lineup and not worry about is a pretty significant benefit. Cabrera is also eligible at two infield spots and has played eight games at first base so has gained that position eligibility in some leagues too (or will get it in the coming days if not). Cabrera is an ideal corner or middle infielder in leagues of 12+ teams and should be getting picked up for his positional versatility and consistent production alone.
