ANALYSIS: 2014 has seen the Rams go through Sam Bradford, Shaun Hill, and now finally Austin Davis. I believe that that the Rams have found their guy in Davis, and a few scouts seem to believe he is the real deal too. Since being named the starter all Davis has done is succeed, passing for an average of 315 yards in the 3 games he started. He's coming off his best performance against the Eagles with a state line of 375 yards and 3 TDs. However, in that performance his completion rate hovered right around 60 whereas in the other 3 games he's been closer to 70 or over.
Now for some bad news. This week Davis faces the 49ers who have a pretty stout defense. However, if Davis has a good showing against the niners, I am all in on him. I like him even more in future years because he has a lot of young talented receivers around him such as fantasy darling Brian Quick, and I could see this whole team growing together. He's worth a speculative add in 2-QB leagues if you're struggling with QB depth and an immediate add in dynasty leagues as your developing QB. If he does put up a good amount of points against the Niners I'd even recommend him in 12 team leagues or deeper.
