ANALYSIS: The collection of assets at the catcher position year has been disappointing this year. Hedges has been on a rollercoaster of performance this year. The first couple of months were terrible but he quickly turned things around in July (.308), but it was partially inflated thanks to a .348 BABIP. August has seen some regression but he has still been serviceable, hitting .250 with five homers and 11 RBI. Hedges also had a .227 ISO during the month.
The Padres will spend the week on the road in Arizona as well as a four-game series in Cincinnati. This is fortunate as Hedges has been better away from Petco Park with a .256 batting average. He also faces four right-handers and two left-handers. He is a better streaming option against the righties as he is batting .246 with eight homers and 23 RBI this season. If you need power from the catcher spot, take a look at Hedges.
