BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 32% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Seattle Mariners have been one of the sneaky-good offenses in the league and catcher Austin Nola has been a big part of it. Nola has been particularly good this past week with seven RBI and six runs scored in his last six games. On the season, Nola is slashing a cool .296/.345/.494 with 15 RBI in 23 games and has the batted-ball metrics to back up his strong numbers.
Nola cut his strikeout rate by 8.1 percent from last season and is making more hard contact. His .302 expected batting average is third among catchers and he places top-seven in expected slugging (.484) and xwOBA (.357) as well. He had good numbers last year as a 29-year old rookie with a .269 average and 10 home runs in 79 games and has backed up those numbers this season. He bats in a great spot for RBI production as the five-hole hitter for the Mariners which will give him more at-bats than most catchers. Nola has done enough to prove he is a starting-caliber catcher in fantasy and should be added in 12-team leagues and deeper.
