DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/22/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Saturday night with an 11 game slate on tap. Quite the slate without clear aces on the mound, you know it is interesting when Zach Davies is the most expensive pitcher. There are bats for days and a lot of the top options cost quite a bit of money. There will have to be sacrifices made at pitcher, some hitters, or both. Make sure to listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits to get the full rundown of the player pool.

When looking at the slate it comes down to paying up for pitching or take some savings and getting all the bats. There are so many nice spots to establish bats that mini-stacks may be the way to build tonight instead of going all-in on one or two games. I will be looking to use a high priced and valued arm to go with some sneaky value and the big bats. More small stacks and one-offs in play tonight. So, so many ways to build on this 11 gamer.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/19/2020. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, contact me on Twitter @bdentrek.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Framber Valdez - P, HOU at SEA ($9,700)

Framber bounced back in a big way in his last start versus the Rangers after a couple of rocky outings. He went 6.1 innings, allowing one run, and striking out 11. He has been a major strikeout arm this season, striking out seven or more in three of his last four games and five or more in all but two outings this year. The strikeouts help those fantasy points rack up. He faced the Mariners earlier this season going six strong while striking out five which was good for 20.7 DK points. He has 20 or more DK points in seven of his last nine starts. He faces a Mariners team tonight who has been shut down most of the season by LHP. They strikeout 27% of the time vs LHP with a .189 average and a .145 ISO. I will be rolling with Framber again tonight.

Brady Singer - P, KC vs STL ($6,900)

Singer started out his big league career with some strong outings but hit some low times allowing three or more runs in five of six starts. He has since looked much much better with back to back gems, going at least six innings, allowing zero runs, and striking out eight in each start. He will fave a Cardinals team tonight who has struggled all season when it comes to offense. They are striking out nearly 24% of the time versus RHP with a .235 average and a .132 ISO. We will be looking for Singer to put out a third strong start and shutdown this bad Cardinals offense, making for a strong punt pitching option tonight.

Other Options: Zach Davies (SD vs LAA) $9,900, Drew Smyly (SF vs COL) $7,600, Keegan Akin (BAL at BOS) $6,300

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Salvador Perez - C, KC vs Austin Gomber ($4,700)

Salvy has returned from the IL and is raking. He has hit safely in all 9 games since his return which is good for a .474 average. He has flexed his muscle as well with nine extra-base hits including four home runs. He has a .584 wOBA, 21.4% barrel rate, and a 46.4% hard-hit rate. He is en Fuego. He faces Gomber who will be the opener tonight and then some Cardinals bullpen. I usually do not pay up for catchers, but tonight there may be an exception.

Other Options: Daulton Varsho (AZ vs TEX) $3,100, Jacob Stallings (PIT vs CHC) $2,700

Christian Walker - 1B, AZ vs Jordan Lyles  ($3,300)

Walker has quietly put together a very strong 2020 season and the price tag continues to stay low. He comes into tonight's game riding a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in eight of his last nine games. Over those nine games, he is hitting .314 with a .383 wOBA and five extra-base hits. He is even smoking the ball with a hard-hit rate of 50%. On the season he is hitting .289 with a .351 wOBA vs RHP this season and gets the cushy matchup versus Lyles tonight. RHH has a .375 wOBA and is hitting over 2 HR/9 versus Lyles this season. Walker makes for strong cash gameplay and a nice value if looking to pay up elsewhere.

Other Options: Freddie Freeman (ATL vs MIA) $5,400, Bobby Dalbec (BOS vs BAL) $3,700, Ryan Mountcastle (BAL at BOS) $3,700

Joey Wendle - 2B/3B, TB at Seth Lugo  ($3,800)

Wendle is on quite the run of late and no one is really noticing it. He has hit safely in eight of his last nine games for a .364 average. He has a .394 wOBA to go with four extra-base hits and three stolen bases as he stuffs the fantasy stat sheet daily. He has also been hitting fifth or sixth most days, so right in the middle of the madness. Wendle faces Lugo tonight who has pitched well on the season and has nasty strikeout stuff but has been a bit rocky of late. Wendle is a low-rostered GPP target tonight.

Josh Donaldson - 3B, MIN vs Tarik Skubal (4,100)

Donaldson rolls into tonight's matchup swinging a hot bat, hitting safely in four straight games. He has two home runs with a .417 and is even walking 14.3% of the time. He is stuffing the stat sheet for one of the most potent offenses in baseball. He faces the youngster Skubal tonight who has been throwing well over his last few starts, but facing a team like the Twins can change things. On the season RHH is hitting .278 with a .368 wOBA and is hitting 2.5 HR/9. Donaldson and the Twins will look to stay hot, so enjoy one of the discounted pieces of the Bomba Squad tonight.

Other Options: Maikel Franco (KC vs STL) $3,700, Edwin Rios (LAD vs OAK) $2,100

Miguel Rojas - SS, MIA vs Bryce Wilson ($4,500)

Similar to Wendle, Rojas has been stringing together a strong run of games and is low-rostered nightly. Over his last 13 games, he is hitting .333 with a .430 wOBA. He has shown nice extra-base skills with three doubles and two home runs over that stretch. He threw in two stolen bases last night and is walking over 16% if the time of this stretch. He has been hitting all over the batting order and if he is in a prime spot then he is definitely in play tonight. The Marlins are facing Wilson and they are very stackable tonight, so do not forget Rojas.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Kole Calhoun - OF, AZ vs Jordan Lyles ($4,500)

Calhoun has been on fire the last few weeks and brings a six-game hit streak into tonight's action. He is hitting .458 over the six games with a .658 wOBA. He has six home runs over the six games and is only striking out 15.4% of the time. It would make sense that his quality of contact has been very strong, but it's better than that as he is barreling the ball 20% of the time with a 65% hard-hit rate. The DBacks have a great matchup vs Lyles tonight and Calhoun should be in stacks with Walker tonight.

Byron Buxton- OF, MIN vs Tarik Skubal ($3,800)

A .271 average, 12 home runs, and one stolen base, who is this Byron Buxton? Well, he's a player we can behind for DFS, especially at his price point. He brings a six-game hitting streak into action tonight with a .375 average and a .536 wOBA. He has four home runs over the six games with a 25% barrel rate and a 65% hard-hit rate. He is on fire, is affordable in a nice Twins stack, oh and he has been leading off lately which raises his value even more.

DJ Stewart - OF, BAL at Nick Pivetta ($2,600)

Yep, Nick Pivetta is on the bump tonight. Yep, we shall stack against him. Stewart has slowed down some since that crazy run we were on and this looks to be the best time to get back on track. Even with the slow few games, he has a 25% barrel rate and a 45% hard-hit rate on the season. He also has a .357 ISO and a 40% HR-FB rate this season vs RHP. He is a really strong value vs Pivetta and joins the likes of Jorge Soler for $2500 and Edwin Rios for $2100 as your major punts tonight,.

A lot of quality OF plays, especially OF values.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Arizona Diamondbacks vs Texas Rangers (Jordan Lyles, RHP)
  • Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins (Jose Urena, RHP)
  • Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves (Bryce Wilson, RHP)
  • Sneaky Stack- Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins (Randy Dobnak, RHP)

NFL DFS Value Plays (Cash Games) for Week 2 on FanDuel and DraftKings

Week 1 is in the books and what a wild week it was. We saw a few expected shootouts, a few disappointing games, and a large cash game cash line. If you did not have DeVante Adams and/or Josh Jacobs it was a long week for your cash lineups. This week there are some nice options in cash games, especially when it comes to value. With some injuries that have taken place and some that may still be lingering, the door is open for some lower-priced backups to take center stage and help us cash this week.

We now have one week, one whole week of information to go off of and use to make some educated Week 2 picks. There is going to be chalk running back or two, due to some Monday night injuries. There are a couple of value running backs this week, but a lot of the value is at wide receiver and tight end. There is a chance of four or more WR that will be extreme value this week and that will allow for the major running backs and other top-end cash game options. These are the values we must take advantage of and realize that some chalk is good chalk, and in cash, we do not mind the chalk.

This article will take a look at some of the value plays for each week of the NFL. However, usually when you look at value plays for GPP you are swinging for the fences somewhat. Here I will be focusing on cash games and the necessity for slightly more safety as you are just looking to finish in the top half or so of the competition. Therefore, we are looking for cheaper players who should see a decent workload, be that pass attempts, targets, or carries. Let's take a look at the cash value plays for Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.

Week 2 Quarterback Cash Game Value Plays

Kyler Murray, AZ vs WAS | DK: $6,100, FD: $8,000

Murray is coming off a monster Week 1 where he threw for 230 and a score as well as rushing for 91 and another touchdown. Murray being able to do it on the ground and in the air is everything we look for in a cash game quarterback. He heads into Week 2 facing a Washington Football Team that had a strong performance vs the Eagles. The Eagles offensive line is depleted and the WAS D was able to take advantage and slow down Carson Wentz and company.

Even though WAS D was strong last week they still allowed Wentz to throw for 270 and two scores. They have allowed 2.6 passing touchdowns per game over their last nine games. Over the last four games, the WAS D has allowed 3.5 passing touchdowns per game, and opposing quarterbacks have scored 27.6 PPG on average. Murray comes in cheaper this week in a home matchup that he should be able to exploit. Fire up Murray in cash and stack with his monster target DeAndre Hopkins.

Dwayne Haskins, WAS @ AZ | DK: $5,100, FD: $6,500

Let's stay in the desert and roster Haskins as a cash game punt at QB. In his Week 1 comeback win he managed to throw for 178 yards and a touchdown with 17 yards rushing thrown on top. He fumbled the ball once which cost him a couple of points and finished with 13 points. We will want more in cash and facing the Cardinals will give Haskins that chance.

Haskins will be getting better and better this season and should feast against a Cardinals Defense that allowed 2.2 passing touchdowns (29th) and 296.9 passing yards (32nd) per game over the last nine games. The Cardinals D allowed two passing touchdowns in Week 1 and nearly 20 fantasy points. The Football Team should be playing from behind and possibly playing keep up most of the game which should lead to plenty of pass attempts for Haskins. He is only in play if you are punting your QB in cash.

Week 2 Running Back Cash Game Value Plays

Benny Snell Jr., PIT vs DEN | DK: $4,500, FD: $4,600 (all depends on Conner's status)

What's the sound you hear? That's the sound of the Chalk Train coming and Benny Snell is driving the train. Snell is coming off a monster Monday night game vs the Giants where he carried the rock 19 times for 113 yards. He was not apart of the passing game like usual as the Steelers were in complete control. Snell looked great pounding the rock and should be in line for another strong workload on Sunday.

In Week 1 the Broncos faced the Titans and Derrick Henry led all of football with 31 carries. The Titans kept running it as the Broncos had no real answer. They allowed 141 rushing yards and 26 total points which we know should have been 36 based on all the missed kicks. The Steelers run the ball 16% more in games the are leading and they should be leading on Sunday. For cash games, we are looking for running backs with a strong share of the workload and we saw in Week 1 that Snell will be a major contributor with James Conner out with another injury.

Jonathan Taylor, IND vs MIN | DK: $5,700 FD: $5,800

Marlon Mack got the start in Week 1 and sadly left with an injury and we have now found out that he is out for the rest of the season. Insert Taylor. After Mack went out Taylor received nine carries but more importantly six targets that he converted to six catches. When you do the quick math that means Taylor received 15 touches in a backup role. Reich has already announced Taylor as the starter with Nyheim Hines backing up.

Taylor faces the Vikings who have given up over 125 rushing yards per game over the last nine games. The season started off even worse as the Vikings D was torched by the Packers allowing 139 rushing yards and nine receptions to the backs for a total of 32.6 FPPG. Hines will have his fair share of touches just like he did in Week 1, but with Taylor starting and likely locking into 15 touches for sure with the potential for 20+ is tremendous in cash games at his discounted price.

Raheem Mostert, SF at NYJ | DK: $6,400, FD: $6,500

Mostert is coming off a Week 1 matchup where he had 15 carries and four catches on five targets and the workload should just go up this Sunday against the Jets. The Niners receiving core is depleted and star tight end George Kittle is banged up and will likely be playing at less than 100%. Mostert can be a major factor on the ground and in the passing game, adding to a strong cash game floor. (Kittle has been ruled out, raising Mostert's floor.)

The Niners are also -7 road favorites so one would assume game flow will play into the hands of the Niners and the running game. If they have to pass to the backs, the Jets allowed eight catches to opposing running backs last week and over 20 fantasy points. Mostert makes for a stronger play on DK with the PPR format, but his price tag and likelihood of 20+ touches make him cash viable on FD as well.

Week 2 Wide Receiver Cash Game Value Plays

Parris Campbell, IND vs MIN | DK: $4,500, FD: $5,300

There have been many preaching the talents of Campbell all offseason and they were on full display in Week 1. He hauled in eight balls on nine targets. Campbell is a strong 1B to TY Hilton's 1A. The Colts will be hosting the Vikings this weekend, just a week after the Vikings were torched by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The Packers had three wide receivers go off last week and the Colts should be in line to do the same this week.

The Vikings D ranked 31st in the NFL last week versus the pass, allowing a total of 315 yards and four touchdowns. They have ranked 29th in the NFL over the last four games. If we go back even further they are 31st in the NFL allowing over 170 yards per game to opposing receivers. Lastly, the Colts will be without Jack Doyle this week which may lead to more targets for Campbell. Look for Hilton to bounce back and Campbell to have another heavy workload.

Diontae Johnson, PIT vs DEN | DK: $4,500, FD: $5,800

Similar to Campbell, Johnson is another mega-value this week, especially in cash. He comes into Sunday's matchup with the Broncos just a week removed from a 10 target, six catch game vs the Giants. Johnson has been targeted at least seven times in his last three games and there is obviously an early connection between Big Ben and Johnson.

It is not just pure volume to target Johnson, it is also the bad Broncos secondary. Last week Ryan Tannehill and the Titans carved them up. The receivers alone had 187 receiving yards and nearly 40 fantasy points. The Broncos have ranked 21st over the last four games against the pass and that should not be changing this week. The volume alone is huge for Johnson this week and the matchup is just icing on the cake.

Robert Woods, LAR @ PHI | DK: $6,400, FD: $6,700

Woods is what I like to refer to as PPR goodness. Woods was targeted eight times last week for six catches and over 100 yards vs the Cowboys. He has become the clear number one in the Rams offense. This week he goes up against an Eagles Defense who is beaten up a bit and just let the Washington Football Team throw all over them in the second half last week. Woods has been targeted at least eight times in the last three games including five red-zone targets over that stretch. Look for Woods to be a safety valve for Goff and rack up more PPR goodness on Sunday.

Week 2 Tight End Cash Game Value Plays

Jonnu Smith, TEN vs JAX | DK: $4,200, FD: $4,900

It was quite fun watching most of the world wake up and realize just how good Jonnu is after his Monday night performance in Denver. He was targeted seven times, catching four and scoring a touchdown on his way to a strong performance for a tight end. He was the TE2 last season to Delanie Walker, but with Walker out of town, it is the Jonnu show. AJ Brown is banged up and if he is limited that is even bigger for Smith. No need to pay up at the tight end in cash and Jonnu is as high as I would go.

Logan Thomas, WAS @ AZ | DK: $3,600, FD: $4,700

When WAS came back and beat the Eagles they shocked many and a large piece of that comeback was their tight end, Thomas. He was targeted eight times, hauling in four and scoring a touchdown. He now heads into one of the best tight end matchups on the planet. We targeted the Cardinals defense versus the tight end all last season and that is not going to change. The Niners tight ends caught six passes in Week 1 and that was with Kittle being a ghost in the second half. The Cardinals have allowed nearly a touchdown and 60 receiving yards to tight ends over the last nine games. Washington should be playing from behind once again this week and that means more passes going Thomas's way. He makes for a great cash game punt at tight end this week.

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/19/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Saturday night with an 11 game slate on tap. After another evening with offense galore we have to navigate the high priced bats, which you will need some of, and the strong pitching options as well. There are some high priced arms, but also some value that may open up some bats. Finding tonight's "Football" scoring lineup will be the key to the GPP wins.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Trevor Bauer who has been absolutely amazing this season, but he is going up against the strong White Sox lineups. I favor Bauer in this matchup, but there is some risk and with the need for all the bats I will likely pass today. Kershaw has been great but in Coors, I will definitely pass at that price. You will want to get some Dodgers in your lineup yet again and it is doable with some other values today. Look to the Rays as one major source of value bats. There are many ways to go today, so do not hesitate to ask me any questions.

Corbin Burnes - P, MIL vs KC ($8,000)

The man, the myth, the legend Corbin Burnes has been nothing short of amazing this season. It took a little while for the Brewers to allow Burnes to join the rotation and once the reigns were off he has flourished. In his last four starts, he has allowed one total run, yes only one, while striking out 38 over 23.2 innings. Besides striking out 42.4% he also has a 50% groundball rate and only a 6.7% walk rate. He is limiting the hard contact to 28% and has been light out. He faces a Royals team who strikes out 24.2% of the time vs RHP with a .241 average and a .156 ISO. Burnes is way way way too cheap tonight and should be in a lot of lineups.

Ian Anderson - P, ATL at NYM ($8,900)

Anderson has made four starts since his promotion to the bigs and has lived up to the prospect hype. He has pitched at least six innings in three of four starts and has allowed two runs or less in all four outings. He has also scored 24.7 or more DK points in three of four starts. He has brought the strikeout stuff as well, striking out six or more in three of four starts. He's limiting the quality of contact in a big way allowing barrels only 2% of the time with a 34% hard-hit rate. He faces a Mets team that can put a lefty-heavy lineup out and so far this season Anderson has allowed LHH to only hit .114 with a .173 wOBA. Anderson should come in lower owned than he should be tonight and makes for an intriguing 1-2 punch with Burnes.

Other Options: Trevor Bauer (CIN vs CWS) $10,800, Lance Lynn (TEX at LAA) $9,500, Kris Bubic (KC at MIL) $6,600

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Daulton Varsho - C/OF, AZ at Christian Javier ($2,900)

Varsho has started to heat up with some regular playing time with the DBacks. He is not hitting for a major average but over his last six games, he is drawing walks 16% of the time while also hitting with power. His average is only .190 over those six games, but his ISO is .286 with a .338 wOBA. He has three extra-base hits and has even thrown in two stolen bases. He has scored double-digit DK points in three of his last six games and four of his last eight. On a night when Will Smith is a great play, but pricey, Varsho allows for some strong savings with some GPP upside vs Javier.

Other Options: Will Smith (LAD at COL) $4,700

Edwin Rios - 1B/3B, LAD at Chi Chi Gonzalez  ($3,300)

I mentioned that savings will be needed tonight and Rios is a strong source of savings. He has hit safely in three straight games with two home runs over those three games. He has hit safely in four of his last five starts and is also walking 13% of the time over that stretch. His ability to hit with power and also take the walk helps rack up the fantasy goodness that leads to strong DK production. He has scored 12 or more DK points in four of those five starts and should be on his way to another strong night vs Gonzalez. Chi Chi is allowing LHH to hit .467 this season with a .542 wOBA and nearly 3 HR/9. The Dodgers should have a ton of fun tonight and Rios should be a part of the party.

Other Options: Nate Lowe (TB at BAL) $2,800

D.J. LeMahieu - 2B/3B, NYY at Chris Mazza  ($5,600)

The second base position is pretty weak tonight and paying up seems to be the answer. Who better to pay up for than LeMahieu? He is leading off for the Bronx Bombers and is riding an 11 game hitting streak into tonight's juicy matchup vs Mazza. Over the 11 games, DJ is hitting .378 with a .555 wOBA while also walking 16.7% of the time. He does it all atop the Yankees lineup and continuously puts up double-digit DK games. LeMahieu is about as safe as they come at any position so lock him into cash and do not forget about him when stacking the Yankees as he brings plenty of power too.

Other Options- Ozzie Albies (ATL at NYM) $4,500

Austin Riley - 3B, ATL at David Peterson ($3,800)

Another bit of savings for tonight's action. Riley went deep last night while hitting safely for his third straight game. He has also hit safely in six of his last seven games. He faces a lefty in Peterson tonight who is a heavy sinker ball pitcher who pitches to a lot of contact and when he is off it can get bad quickly. He has allowed home runs in each of his last two starts as well. Riley prefers hitting vs RHP, but the Braves bats are red hot and Riley is a strong GPP value when looking for some savings tonight.

Other Options: Edwin Rios (LAD at COL) $3,300, Nate Lowe (TB at BAL) $2,800

Corey Seager - SS at Chi Chi Gonzalez ($5,300)

As mentioned above, Chi Chi loves giving it up to LHH. The Dodgers have a whole lot of lefties and Seager is one that is having a heck of a 2020 season. He has multi-hit games in his first two nights in Coors and has also hit safely in six of his last eight games. Over that stretch, he is hitting .314 with a .397 wOBA and five extra-base hits. He is pricey tonight but makes for a great play with double-digit DK upside.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Kole Calhoun - OF, AZ at Christian Javier ($4,200)

Talk about a player riding a hot streak, Kole Calhoun has been en fuego over his current four-game hitting streak. He hit two home runs last night and has five home runs over his four games, homering in three of four games. He is hitting .471 with a .754 wOBA and a 382 wRC+. He faves Javier tonight who has been prone to give up the long ball this season, especially vs LHH. On the season lefties are only hitting .238, but they have a .332 wOBA and hit 2 HR/9 vs Javier. Calhoun is still a strong value and is worth riding that hot streak while you can.

Mookie Betts- OF, LAD at Chi Chi Gonzalez ($6,100)

I feel dirty writing about Betts as I usually do not write about Captain Obvious plays, but I could not resist. Betts has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games and is riding a seven-game hitting streak into action tonight. Over the seven games he has a .420 wOBA, has four extra-base hits, and has stolen three bases He is hitting everything right now and while most will target Chi Chi with LHH, rightfully so, Betts is a must when stacking the Dodgers tonight.

Kyle Tucker - OF, HOU vs Luke Weaver ($4,400)

It was not that long ago that Tucker was scorching the earth and everyone was rejoicing the arrival of the heralded prospect. Then like all good things, they came to an end as a cold streak happened. He may be waking up now as he is riding a four-game hitting streak into tonight's action, including back to back double-digit DK nights. Over the four games, he has a strong 50% hard-hit rate, just showcasing the fact he may be getting locked in yet again. He faces Weaver tonight who has struggled vs LHH allowing them to hit .314 with a .425 wOBA and 3.2 HR/9. Jump back on the Kyle Tucker wagon.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies (Chi Chi Gonzalez, RHP)
  • New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox (Chris Mazza, RHP)
  • Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles (Jorge Lopez, RHP)
  • Sneaky Stack- Seattle Mariners vs San Diego Padres (Mike Clevinger, RHP)

2020 Fantasy Baseball Advice Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) Lineup Picks Editor Note MLB Analysis RotoBaller - All Fantasy Sports Articles

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/17/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Thursday night with a 6 game slate on tap. There are a couple of top-end arms and a few main bats to focus on. We have Coors in play as well which may lower the amount some of the other strong offenses are rostered. It should be another wild slate like we have seen of late as we get closer to the end of the MLB season.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Shane Bieber and facing the Tigers makes for an absolutely awesome play. There are pivots off Bieber with Aaron Nola and Framber Valdez. When it comes to value arms it is a little more difficult, but we shall find some as the day goes on. With Coors in play, many will flock to the matchup between the Dodgers and Rockies, hopefully lowering the amount the Yankees and Astros are rostered. Overall it is a straight forward night, but make sure to listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits to get all the angles for tonight's slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/17/2020.

Shane Bieber - P, CLE at DET ($10,900)

The front runner for the AL Cy Young award takes the bump tonight and is quite the discount. Sure he is on the road, but he is facing the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are striking out close to 28% of the time vs RHP with a .165 ISO and a .297 wOBA. Bieber has struck out at least eight in every start this season and in his one appearance vs the Tigers threw seven shutout innings with 11 K's. The Tigers have been pesky this season, but tonight is not the night for the Tigers as Bieber may give up a little, but in the end, will go 6+ with a ton of strikeouts and all the fantasy goodness.

Framber Valdez - P, HOU vs TEX ($9,200)

Framber is coming off his two worst starts of the season, both in LA and that could very well lower his ownership. he has struck out seven or more in three of his last four starts. He has also thrown at least six innings in seven of his last eight starts. He is putting in the innings and racking up the K's to get those fantasy points. Before the last two hiccups, he had six straight starts of 20+ points. He will face the rangers tonight who strikeout close to 25% of the time vs LHP with a .138 ISO and .285 wOBA. In his one appearance vs the Rangers this season he went seven strong innings, allowing three runs and striking out eight for 20.4 DK points. Valdez makes for a strong GPP play tonight with some cash appeal.

Other Options: Seth Lugo (NYM at PHI) $7,100

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Elias Diaz - C, COL at Julio Urias ($2,500)

Diaz could bring some extreme value to the six-game slate tonight. Diaz has played in back-to-back games and will hopefully see more playing time to end the season as he is easily the best hitting catcher the Rockies have on the roster. Diaz hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday and has another interesting matchup vs Urias tonight. In a small sample, he is hitting .267 with a .267 ISO and a .375 wOBA vs LHP and always hit them well in his career. Urias struggled against the Rockies in LA earlier this season allowing four runs in 4.1 innings. On the season RHH is hitting .268 vs Urias with nearly 1 HR/9 and a 40% hard-hit rate. Diaz is basically free in the Coors field, meaning he is all the value tonight.

Luke Voit - 1B, NYY vs Chase Anderson  ($4,900)

Voit continued his tear on baseball last night with the 19th home run of the season and now has three home runs in the last two games. He has hit safely in seven of his last nine games for a .316 average with six home runs and a .447 ISO. He faces the righty Anderson tonight and Voit has done serious damage vs RHP, hitting 14 of his 19 home runs vs RHP. He has a .288 average on the season vs RHP with a .346 ISO and a 50.5% hard-hit rate. Anderson has had an up and down season, but he has allowed RHH to hit .276 on the season and a .414 SLG on the season. The Yankees are a big play again today and riding the hot bat of Voit should be high on your list of things to do.

Other Options: Yuli Gurriel (HOU vs TEX) $4,000

Tyler Wade - 2B/SS, NYY vs Chase Anderson  ($2,200)

Value is not nearly as strong on tonight's slate so targeting a player like Wade who will be in the lineup for one of the higher team totals on the slate. He has hit safely in three straight games and has scored at least nine DK points in each of the last three games. He allows from some major salary relief and can even be used in a Yankees wrap around stack or a one off. Wade is not a must play but he is one of the better value targets tonight.

Justin Turner - 3B, LAD at Kyle Freeland ($5,000)

Turner retired from the IL a couple days ago and started contributing right away. He had a 13 point three hit game on Tuesday and scored a couple runs on Wednesday. Now he heads to Coors field and faces the lefty Freeland. He has not hit lefties great this season, but he has hit them quite well in his career. Over the previous three seasons, he hit at least .287 with an ISO of .244 and a wOBA of .385 or better. On the season Freeland has allowed RHH to hit .304 in Coors this season and a .438 SLG. Turner is usually over looked when it comes to Dodgers stack, do not be that person tonight.

Other Options: Alex Bregman (HOU vs TEX) $5,100, Gio Urshela (NYY vs TOR) $4,400

Paul DeJong - SS at Steven Brault ($3,900)

It has been a quiet season for DeJong between missing so much time due to the Cardinals COVID situation and just a natural slow start. He is still hitting .296 on the season with some limited power numbers. Over the last five games he has hit safely in four of the games which was good for a .353 average and a .354 wOBA. Again, the power still limited but the fantasy production has been good. He has shown a steady 5+ point fantasy floor with upside most nights. He can be a cheaper piece of your lineup tonight or apart of a super low owned Cardinals stack.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Clint Frazier - OF, NYY vs Chase Anderson ($4,300)

There will be a couple more Yankees mentioned in the article as they are too cheap for the matchup and their current production. Frazier is the first and he is white hot at the moment. He has hit safely in four straight games including three straight multi-hit games. He has homered in back-to-back games with a .692 ISO and an impressive 22.2% walk rate. He has found plenty of success vs RHP this season with a .311 average and a .284 ISO. Frazier is "Voit Lite" and comes in at a very affordable price tonight.

Aaron Hicks- OF, NYY vs Chase Anderson ($3,600)

Hicks price is just laughable. Like most Yankees, they are actually cheaper tonight, but Hicks is crazy as he is hitting third in the insanely potent Yankees lineup. He has hit safely in seven of his last nine games including three straight games with hits. He has a .259 ISO over that stretch and what may be even better is his plate discipline, walking 26.3% of the time, getting on base for Voit and the other Bronx Bombers. Hicks is insane value tonight, should be in your Yankees stacks and all cash lineups.

Scott Kingery - 2B/OF, PHI vs Seth Lugo ($2,200)

I mentioned Wade as a value earlier, but Kinery may be the better play. Wade is in the potent Yankees lineup, but Kingery has a hit tool we can embrace. He has a tough matchup vs Lugo, but after five or six innings he will get an at bat or two against that wonderful Mets bullpen. He has hit safely in all three games since his return from the IL with an extra-base hit in each game. He has barreled the ball 33.3% of the time with a 66.7% hard-hit rate in that small sample and has scored seven or more DK points in each game. Kingery is a major value tonight if you are looking for the big arms or bats tonight.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • COORS- some really nice value to go with the studs, both teams in play, A's likely lower owned
  • New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays (Chase Anderson, RHP)
  • Houston Astros vs Texas Rangers (Jordan Lyles, RHP)
  • Sneaky Stack- Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees (Masahiro Tanaka, RHP)
  • No Ownership Stack- Pittsburgh Pirates vs St Louis Cardinals (Dakota Hudson, RHP)

2020 Fantasy Baseball Advice Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) Lineup Picks Editor Note MLB Analysis RotoBaller - All Fantasy Sports Articles

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/15/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Tuesday night with a 12 game slate on tap. It's a really strong slate with some decent pitching options and a lot of places to use bats. There is plenty of value to incorporate some studs as well. Make sure to listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits to get a full rundown of the slate as there are many ways to attack this wonderful 12 game slate.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Yu Darvish on the road vs a struggling Indians offense. He is well worth the price, but may not be necessary with some other strong options. Coors Field is in play and both teams are in for a strong night, play the A's at likely lower ownership. There is plenty of value as well. Take a look at the Orioles (DJ Stewart SZN), the Angels, and a few others. This article will give you some of the main targets, but again there are many ways to go about tonight's slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/15/2020.

Jack Flaherty - P, STL at MIL ($9,400)

In Flaherty's last start the Cardinals appeared to take the kid gloves off. He threw five innings and more importantly he threw 95 pitches. Barring anything else popping off, Flaherty should be good to go tonight vs a struggling Brewers offense. Even though Flaherty has not had a full ace-like season we were expecting, he is striking out 25% of the batters he faces with a 45.7% groundball rate, and only a 4.3% barrel rate. He faces a Brewers team that strikes out nearly 27% of the time vs RHH with a sub .150 ISO and sub .300 wOBA. To put it lightly, the Brewers offense is really struggling and this could be the coming-out party for Flaherty.

Deivi Garcia - P, NYY vs TOR ($6,800)

The Yanks young stud arm will be making his fourth start of the season and has been electric in two fo the there starts. In those starts, he has thrown at least six innings and struck out at least six batters. He has struck out 25.7% of the batters he has faced in his three starts and more importantly has walked only two batters (2.9%). He has limited opposing hitters to a 6.1% barrel rate and a nice 28.6% hard-hit rate. Garcia has been more than solid and faced the Jays his last time out, going seven strong and racking up 24.8 DK points. He will be making his first start at Yankee Stadium and will look to stay hot, making for a really strong value arm tonight.

Other Options: Yu Darvish (CHC vs CLE) $11,300, Danny Duffy (KC at DET) $7,700

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Sean Murphy - C, OAK at Antonio Senzatela ($3,900)

Murphy has been hitting the ball hard all season, yet the results were not showing up. That has changed over the last eight games. He has hit safely in six of those eight games for a .391 average and four home runs. He is hitting it with such authority he has racked up a .522 ISO, .569 wOBA, 23.5% barrel rate, and a 47.1% hard-hit rate. Maybe more impressively he has 20.7% walk rate over that stretch. He has scored 14 or more points in five of the last eight games and has a very nice price tag in Coors tonight who has allowed a .400 average and a .422 wOBA vs RHH in Coors this season.

Other Options:Yasmani Grandal (CWS vs MIN) $5,100, Salvador Perez (KC at DET) $4,300

Jared Walsh - 1B, LAA vs Madison Bumgarner  ($4,000)

Walsh's price tag has risen quite a bit, but he has earned that price bump. He has hit safely in six straight games and eight of his last nine. Over his last six games, he has five multi-hit games good for a .440 average. He has also shown some really strong power over those six games hitting four home runs with a .560 average and a .573 wOBA. His quality of contact has been impressive as well barreling the ball 18.2% of the time with a 50% hard-hit rate. He is crushing everything and picking up where he left off last season in the minors where he hit 36 home runs. He faces Mad Bum tonight, who has not been the Mad Bum of old. At home, this season Bumgarner has allowed LHH to hit .333 with a .367 wOBA and has given up 2.7 HR/9. Walsh should be low owned today with massive upside.

Other Options: Freddie Freeman (ATL at BAL) $5,700, Christian Walker (AZ at LAA) $3,200

Dylan Moore - 2B/OF, SEA vs Tyler Anderson  ($3,800)

Moore has quite the 2020 season, a season that many did not see coming. Before going O'fer in yesterday's doubleheader he had hit safely in seven of his last 9 games for only a .265 average, but a .265 ISO and a .370 wOBA, and racking up fantasy points. He had 7 or more points in seven of those nine games, making him a strong cash consideration nightly. On the season he is hitting .286 vs RHP with a .370 wOBA and a .234 ISO. He gives you some savings tonight and a nice floor in a cushy matchup vs Anderson. (Just make sure the game plays with all the smoke)

Other Options: Whit Merrifield (KC at DET) $4,800, Ozzie Albies (ATL at BAL) $4,400, Ty France (SEA vs SF) $4,000

Maikel Franco - 3B, KC at Matt Boyd ($4,100)

One player that does not want this sprint season to end is likely Maikel Franco. He is riding a four-game hitting streak into tonight's action and has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games. Over those 11 games, he is hitting .391 with a .403 wOBA and a very impressive 12.1% strikeout rate. He faves the lefty Boyd tonight and on the season Franco is hitting .379 with a .393 wOBA vs LHP this season. On the season Boyd is letting RHH hit .336 with a .447 wOBA while allowing 3.1 HR/9. Franco and the Royals are a nice, low owned stack tonight.

Other Options: Yoan Moncada (CWS vs MIN) $5,200, Alec Bohm (PHI vs NYM) $2,700

Adalberto Mondesi - SS at Matt Boyd ($3,800)

The switch-hitting Mondesi was having a season to forget until 10 games ago when his bat woke up. Over those 10 games, he has hit safely in nine of 10 for a .308 average and has stolen eight bases. More impressively for Mondesi, he has hit four home runs with a .333 ISO and .414 wOBA. He has barreled the ball 17.4% of the time with a hard-hit rate of 47.8% as well. Mondesi is hitting for average while stealing bases and surprisingly flexing some power. His price has finally come up a little but is still a nice value at a top-heavy SS position.

Other Options: Trevor Story (COL vs OAK) $5,600

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Kevin Pillar - OF, COL vs Sean Manaea ($4,100)

The Rockies host the A's tonight and will face lefty Sean Manaea who has quietly put together a string of strong starts. Sadly, Coors is not where you want to go to keep that streak going. Pillar has hit safely in three of his five games in Coors as a member of the Rockies with two extra-base hits and will look to stay hot versus lefthanded pitching. On the season he is hitting .306 with a .274 ISO vs LHP. The entire Rockies outfield not named Charlie Blackmon are cheap tonight, so grab Pillar or some others to enjoy some Coors action.

Michael Brantley- OF, HOU vs Kyle Cody ($3,600)

Just another night of DFS action and another night where DK prices Brantley too cheap. All Brantley does is hit. Over his last seven games, he has hit .308 with a .231 ISO and a 54.5% hard-hit rate. He is a strong cash game play night in and night out with major upside in an Astros stack. He hits in the middle of the Astros order in a juicy matchup vs Cody tonight. Cody has not thrown more than three innings or 55 pitches in an appearance this season, so Brantley and the Astros will get Cody for a trip through the lineup and then some shaky Rangers bullpen. Load up on the Astros.

DJ Stewart - OF, BAL vs Huascar Ynoa ($2,400)

Well if you are a regular Quick Hits listener or reader of my columns, you have been enjoying this run by Stewart, and as long as DK keeps pricing him too cheap we will keep rolling with him. He has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, good for a .394 average. He is also crushing everything with seven home runs, a .667 ISO, and a 289 wRC+. His quality of contact is even crazier as he has been barreling the ball 38.1% of the time with a 52.4% hard-hit rate over this stretch. He has another great matchup vs Ynoa tonight who has allowed LHH to hit .304 with a .379 wOBA on the season. Stewart is a free square once again tonight in cash and your GPP lineups.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • COORS- some really nice value to go with the studs, both teams in play, A's likely lower owned
  • Baltimore Orioles vs Atlanta Braves (Huascar Ynoa, RHP)
  • Chicago White Sox vs Minnesota Twins (Randy Dobnak, RHP)
  • Sneaky Stack- Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers (Matt Boyd, LHP)
  • A lot of good spots to stack tonight

NFL DFS Value Plays for Week 1 on FanDuel and DraftKings

Week 1 is finally here! There was a time when the idea of NFL Week 1 seemed like a pipe dream, but we are here. It is obviously a bit different this season as there was no preseason action, practices were a bit different, and just the overwhelming cloud surrounding these times in our lives. Even with all those hurdles, we are finally here. I will be with you weekly, giving you my top cash game values to help build your winning cash game lineups.

With no preseason there are more question marks than ever entering Week 1. There are rookies that I would love to use this week that I feel have more GPP appeal than Cash with the question marks. There were obviously roster changes as well as coaching changes this offseason that can definitely change the way the teams play. Week 1 will be about navigating the minefields and taking much safer plays in cash.

Let's take a look at the cash value plays for Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season.

Week 1 Quarterback Cash Game Value Plays

Carson Wentz, PHI @ WAS | DK: $6,300, FD: $7,700

Wentz heads into Week 1 healthy, well supposedly healthy. He was dealing with a soft tissue injury during camp but is supposed to be good to go for Week 1. This is a really good thing as the Eagles have a great matchup to start the season versus division rival Washington Football Team. Last year Wentz averaged close to 25 points per game versus WAS and over his career has averaged at nearly 19 a game. Seems like a solid floor for cash to me. It gets better as WAS D in 2019 allowed 2.3 passing touchdowns per game and adding Chase Young is not enough to make they will suddenly shut down the passing game.

It gets better as the Eagles have thrown the ball 16% more when favored and they walk into Sunday's action as 6.5 point road favorites with a 25.5 team total. Wentz will have an interesting starting receiving core of DeSean Jackson, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Greg Ward, but that does not matter as he will have his man Zach Ertz and his double in Dallas Goedert at tight end. Wentz brings a really strong floor into the Week 1 action with a nice ceiling, everything we want in a cash game quarterback without having to break the bank.

Cam Newton, NE vs MIA | DK: $6,100, FD: $7,300

When looking at cash game quarterbacks we look for favored quarterbacks in strong matchups and it really helps if they can run a little as that helps with their production floor. Cam may not run like he used to, but we do know he loves running it in for touchdowns when they get close to the goal line and we know the Patriots loved doing that with Tom Brady as well. He heads to South Beach to open the season against a Miami team that struggled mightily versus the passing game last season.

They allowed 2.3 passing touchdowns per game and over 280 passing yards per game. The Dolphins did strengthen their defense with CB Byron Jones, LB Kyle Van Noy, and DE Emmanuel Ogbah. The Patriots love to run the ball if in the lead, but will also want to prove a point with Brady out of town. Week in and week out Cam brings a strong floor into his games and Week 1 sets up as a nice matchup to do just that in cash games.

Week 1 Running Back Cash Game Value Plays

Antonio Gibson, WAS vs PHI | DK: $4,000, FD: $4,600

Gibson will be the chalk of chalk when it comes to cash games this week. When WAS released Adrian Peterson the fantasy world went abuzz with Gibson love. The rookie out of Memphis was more of a wide receiver the running back, but WAS has their mindset as using him in the backfield. Regardless of how many carries he gets, his passing catching ability really strengthens his floor.

If Gibson can get 10-15 carries and 5+ targets he will outproduce his price tag in a big way. WAS is also a 6.5 point home underdog which means they should be playing from behind, throwing more, and potentially even more dump-offs to Gibson. He is a near must play this week in cash unless some crazy news comes out about playing time and/or usage for Gibson.

Chris Carson, SEA @ ATL | DK: $6,200 FD: $7,200

In cash games you will want to get Christian McCaffrey into your lineups and will likely play Gibson as well, that leaves running back for the FLEX spot. Carson is a name that should be in consideration at his cheap price point. The Seahawks heads into Sunday's game as 2 point road favorites with a team total of 24.5. The game should be a back and forth battle that should keep the Seahawks running the ball and even dumping it off to Carson.

The Falcons have struggled with running backs in recent years, especially backs that can catch the ball. Towards the end of last season, the Falcons allowed runnings back to score close to 22 points per game on 18 carries and five receptions. Carson should see plenty of action on Sunday and brings a strong cash game floor into action.

Kerryon Johnson, DET vs CHI | DK: $4,400, FD: $5,600

Am I absolutely in love with this play? Nope, but I am a realist and I do realize a starting running back in a close game brings a great floor into cash games at his price tag. Johnson is the starting running back for the Lions with Deandre Swift injured and newly signed Adrian Peterson still getting acclimated to the team.

Johnson will face a Bears team that allowed nearly one rushing touchdown per game last season as well as allowing 41% more fantasy points to running backs over their last nine road games. This is purely a pricepoint, meets potential volume play for Johnson. He should get a bulk of the touches and put up double-digit fantasy performance, outperforming his cheap price tag.

Week 1 Wide Receiver Cash Game Value Plays

Terry McLaurin, WAS vs PHI | DK: $5,700, FD: $6,500

McLaurin heads into Week 1 as Dwayne Haskins go-to wide receiver and should receive many many targets this season. With WAS being near touchdown home dogs there is reason to suspect a lot of pass attempts for Haskins and many should be targeted at McLaurin. When Haskins took over as the starter in Week 8, McLaurin was targeted 6.62 times per game and caught 4.25 passes per game.

He scored double-digit fantasy points in five of the eight games including two monster games to finish out the season. Over the Eagles last nine games on the road they have allowed 33% more fantasy points to wide receivers. Washington should be throwing plenty in this matchup and McLaurin should be a major benefactor on Sunday.

Allen Lazard, GB @ MIN | DK: $4,900, FD: $5,500

Lazard enters the 2020 season as the WR2 in the Green Bay offense. That could be a major player in a game that could see a bit of a back and forth shootout. Devante Adams can not catch everything and Aaron Jones will not run the ball 40+ times. Aaron Rodgers will sling it around the field and try and take advantage of a suspect Minnesota secondary.

A secondary that allowed almost 173 receiving yards to wide receivers last season, which was 25th in the NFL. Lazard may be a bit risky for cash games, but at his price point, especially on DK, he brings a nice floor to your roster.

Greg Ward, PHI @ WAS | DK: $4,200, FD: $4,800

With all the injuries to the Eagles receiving core, Ward should slide right back into a role he flourished in to finish the 2019 season. He started the last three games last season and saw at least five targets per game. He is currently WR2 on the Eagles depth chart and should be apart of a very productive offensive day for the Eagles.

Wentz can look to Ward in a lot of shorter yardage situations, but Ward can also stretch the field when the defense is focused on DJax on the other side. Ward is uber-cheap this week and allows you to roster CMC and Michael Thomas when he is paired with one of these other value plays.

Week 1 Tight End Cash Game Value Plays

Hayden Hurst, ATL vs SEA | DK: $4,300, FD: $5,200

Let's head back to the potential shootout in Atlanta and look into the new Falcons tight end, Hurst. The Falcons acquired Hurst and he is in line to take over where Austin Hooper left off. Matt Ryan has been a fan of targeting his tight ends, especially in the red zone and that could lead to a lot of fantasy goodness for Hurst. The buzz out of Falcons camp (I hate saying that, but that is all we have this season) is they are loving Hurst and he is building a strong connection with Ryan.

Last season the Seahawks were a sieve to tight ends and that could continue Sunday as they focus on Julio and Ridley on the outsides. They allowed over 75 receiving yards to tight ends last season and in games where they were favored, usually meaning the opponent had to keep up, they allowed 28% more fantasy points to the tight end position. Usually, I will pay down at TE, but if the funds are available Hurst is in play.

Chris Herndon, NYJ @ BUF | DK: $3,300, FD: $4,800

Throughout the draft season, I have been a major Herndon fan. Honestly, I have been a creepy Jets offense fan. The Jets do not have a ton of options in the passing game after Jamison Crowder and newly added Breshad Perriman. Herndon should be a major piece of the Jets offense and should also be used as a nice safety valve for Sam Darnold. Herndon is your cash punt at tight end if you are looking to punt.

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/10/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Thursday night with a 6 game slate on tap. A slate with a few top-end arms and a lot of places to attack with bats. There is some nice value so you should be able to grab some big bats and a big arm or two. Make sure to listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits to get a full rundown of the player pool and how to attack the slate.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Gerrit Cole and for good reasons facing an Orioles club with a lot of swing and miss. After Cole,Co there are a lot of landmines to navigate when locking in another pitcher. With that being said there are bats for days. The Yankees and Padres will be expensive and popular, while the Rays, Giants, Red Sox are a few of the affordable targets tonight.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/10/2020.

Gerrit Cole - P, NYY vs BAL ($10,300)

Cole rolls into tonight's action in a bit of a skid. He has allowed four runs or more in three straight starts. It has been a roller coaster ride, one where he has not been ace-like but hasn't killed your teams as he is still striking guys out. He has at least seven strikeouts in the last three games. One thing I have discussed many times is Cole's issue with the long ball as he has given up at least one home run in each start. We are getting a bit of a discount with Cole at home vs the Orioles. The Orioles are striking out 22.9% of the time vs RHO with a .181 ISO. They definitely have some pop and some streaky hitters, but Cole should be able to avoid too much trouble, strikeout plenty, and rack up the DK points tonight in cash and GPP lineups.

Sandy Alcantara - P, MIA vs PHI ($6,600)

Alcantara has made two starts since returning from the COVID IL. The first start was a disaster and I am willing to chalk that up to rust. His latest start was much more like the Alcantara we have come to expect. He went six strong, allowing one run while striking out eight. He faces the Phillies tonight, a team he pitched well against to start the season. He will look to stay hot vs a Phillies team that strikes out 21.1% of the time with a .252 average and a .166 ISO. Alcantara will have his work cut out for him, but he is usually up for the task. He makes for a strong SP2 tonight on a slate that does not have many great pitching options.

Other Options: Sonny Gray (CIN at CHC) $9,600

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Christian Vazquez - C, BOS at Josh Fleming ($3,800)

Vazquez has picked up right where he left off in 2019 and is having another strong season. He is currently on a bit of a heater as well. Over the last seven games, he has hit safely in five of seven games with a .385 average. He is also walking 16.1% of the time and has a strong .398 wOBA. Last year Vazquez was very strong vs LHP but has gotten off to a slow start this season. He does have a .244 ISO to go with a .220 average. The catcher position is not great tonight and Vazquez is in a strong spot for the Red Sox tonight.

Other Options: Daulton Varsho (AZ vs LAD) $2,300

Bobby Dalbec - 1B/3B, BOS at Josh Fleming  ($3,200)

We are currently living the peak Bobby Dalbec experience. In the minors, he hit for a ton of power and not much of an average. We are currently seeing that power. Dalbec has homered in four straight games where he is hitting .429 with a .690 wOBA. In his first nine games, he is barreling the ball 25% of the time with a 37.5% hard-hit rate, but over the last four games, he has a 44.4% barrel rate and a hard-hit rate of 55.6%. Fleming has allowed LHH to hit 1.5 HR/9 with a .324 wOBA so far this season. Dalbec makes for a strong GPP value today.

Other Options: Garret Cooper (MIA vs PHI) $3,100, Brandon Belt (SF at SD) $3,300

DJ LeMahieu - 2B/3B, NYY vs Keegan Akin  ($5,600)

LeMahieu is having another strong season with a .355 average and a .397 wOBA. He is riding a three-game hitting streak into tonight's game and has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games. He is pricey tonight, but the second base position is not great and he has a great matchup. He has hit over .316 in each of the last six seasons vs LHP, including a .318 average this season. This season he has a .359 wOBA and a 52.4% hard-hit rate vs LHP. Akin has thrown well this season, but tonight could be tough in the Bronx for the 25-year-old and LeMahieu should be apart of that.

Mike Brosseau - 1B/3B, TB vs Mike Kickham ($4,700)

Brosseau brings power when he steps into the batter's box for the Rays. He has a .333 ISO to go with a .416 wOBA this season. He also has a 12.8% barrel rate and a 43.6% hard-hit rate. That's really strong, but what we all love Brosseau is his ability to mash LHP. This season he is hitting .351 with a .432 ISO, a 30.8% HR/FB, and an insane 65.4% hard-hit rate vs LHP. He faces Kickham tonight who recently made his first major league appearance since 2014. He will not be long for the game, but do not panic as the Red Sox bullpen is horrible as well.

Other Options: Manny Machado (SD vs SF) $5,700, Rafael Devers (BOS at TB) $5,000

Chris Taylor - OF/SS at Madison Bumgarner ($4,200)

Taylor comes into tonight's action riding a five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in eight of his last nine games. Over those nine games, he is hitting .333 with a .405 wOBA and a 57.7% hard-hit rate. Taylor is a nice value in a Dodgers stack tonight as we should be back to attacking Mad Bum tonight. He is definitely not his old self and that shows as he is allowing hitters to barrel the ball 19.4% of the time with a 44.4% hard-hit rate. On the season RHH is hitting .288 with a .451 wOBA with a 49.1% hard-hit rate and allowing an insane 5 HR/9!!!! Load up on your Dodgers, preferably RHH Dodgers, and Taylor should be involved. (Side note, Enrique Hernandez owns Bumgarner.)

Other Options: Gleyber Torres (NYY vs BAL) $4,900, Xander Bogaerts (BOS at TB) $4,600, Miguel Rojas (MIA vs PHI) $3,400

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Wil Myers - OF, SD vs Drew Smyly ($4,100)

The resurgence of Myers has been a thing of beauty this season and the last 11 games have been quite a run. He has hit safely in nine of the last 11 games for a .372 average and a .349 ISO. He has had a higher than normal strikeout rate in recent years but is only striking out 13.3% of the time. He is barreling the ball 13.5% of the time with a 54% hard-hit rate over the las t11 games. He has been crushing LHP this season with a .383 average, .493 wOBA, and 214 wRC+. He is one of the hottest hitters in baseball and faces Smyly tonight as he makes his return from the IL.

AJ Pollock- OF, LAD at Madison Bumgarner ($3,900)

Hey, look, another Dodgers RHH. I was not going to write up Mookie Betts, you do not need an article to tell you he is a great play. Pollock on the other hand, is a strong value piece of the Dodgers tonight. He has hit safely in his last six games for a .440 average, a .475 wOBA, and a 57.9% hard-hit rate. This season he is hitting .359 with a .407 wOBA vs LHP and should be in your Dodgers stacks vs Mad Bum.

Randy Arozarena - OF, TB vs Mike Kickham ($3,200)

Here is your tasty value of the night. The Rays added Arozarena to the roster at the end of August and are crushing. He has hit safely in five of eight games with a .400 average. He has flexed his muscle as well with a .593 wOBA, .600 ISO, 18.8% barrel rate, and 50% hard-hit rate. He is straight crushing it. The Rays have been hitting him near the top of the order in his recent starts in should be in a very strong spot tonight vs Kickham. Great salary relief tonight in cash and GPP.

DraftKings DFS Stacks

  • Los Angeles Dodgers at Madison Bumgarner (Madison Bumgarner, LHP)
  • Tampa Bay Rays vs Boston Red Sox (Mike Kickham, LHP)
  • Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays (Josh Fleming, LHP)
  • New York Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles (Keegan Akin, LHP)

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/8/20) - MLB DFS Lineups

We head into Tuesday night with a 9 game slate on tap. We have a few strong arms priced at the top with a few nice values on the mound as well. There are a lot of interesting ways to go with bats tonight and that makes for a very fun slate. In today's article, I will highlight some players that most usually will not. The goal is to bring them to your attention as some nice floor or GPP plays that could be apart of some nice, contrarian stacks. Today is a very good day to listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits to get a full rundown of today's slate.

When looking at the slate the top-priced arm is Walker Buehler, but there are questions as he only threw 71 pitches in his return from a blister. He should be good to go, back to 90+ and if he does he is a steal at his price tag. The key to the slate may be trusting or fading Buehler and hitting on the lower-priced arms, then getting weird with some bats. The Dodgers are always in play, but I have more interest in the Giants, Tigers, Pirates, and some other not so popular stacking options.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/8/2020.

Sixto Sanchez - P, MIA vs ATL ($6,200)

Sixto has been nothing but brilliant since he was called up to the bigs. He brings an arsenal of straight gas with some nasty breaking pitches and so far has shut down his opponents. In his three starts, he has a 2.37 ERA and a 2.65 xFIP, so he has been pretty legit. More impressively for a young arm is his 25.4% K-BB% and that is in large part due to a very impressive 1.4% BB rate. He has thrown seven innings in each of his last two starts and will look to keep things going vs a rather hot Atlanta team. A Braves team that strikes out a 24.3% strikeout rate, a,275 average, and .228 ISO vs RHP. Sixto will have his work cut out for him at home tonight, but he has the goods and if the control is there again, he becomes a great value.

Andrew Heaney - P, LAA at TEX ($8,400)

Heaney heads to Texas and faces off with Lynn in what should be quite the pitchers' duel. On paper, Lynn is the safer, cash gameplay, where Heaney brings that upside and is coming off of two really strong starts. He has thrown at least seven innings in his last two starts while striking out at least six over those two starts. He faces a Rangers team whose offense just hasn't been consistently threatening at all this season. They are striking out 25% of the time versus LHP with a .228 average, .132 ISO, and .281 wOBA. Not good at all when it comes to the Rangers offense vs lefties. Heaney can be inconsistent, but he has a great matchup, is a decent value, and could be low-rostered tonight on your winning DFS lineups.

Other Options: Walker Buehler (LAD at AZ) $10,200, Lance Lynn (TEX vs LAA) $9,400

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Will Smith - C, LAD at Luke Weaver ($4,000)

We have been waiting for Smith's bat to get going this season and it appears it finally has arrived. He is still apart of a platoon with Barnes, but it does seem Smith is starting to play a bit on the stronger side of that platoon. He has hit safely in six of his last seven games for a nice .348 average. He has also hit three home runs over that stretch with a .478 ISO and an impressive 17.9% walk rate. He is hitting RHP well to the tune of a .271 average and a strong .417 ISO. He faces Weaver tonight who has shown reverse splits in his career and this season has allowed RHH to hit .294 with a .358 wOBA. Smith could be a sneaky piece of a rather popular Dodgers stack tonight.

Brandon Belt - 1B, SF vs Ljay Newsome  ($3,800)

I never thought I would be writing up Belt as often as I have, but he continues to rake and DK continues to price him too cheap. Over his last 11 starts Belt is hitting .476 with a .618 wOBA, 12 extra-base hits, and a 19.2% walk rate. He is barreling the ball 23.5% of the time with a 55.9% hard-hit rate as well. He is one of the best pure hitters in baseball right now and DK gave us a gift at his $3800 price tag. He faces the youngster Newsome tonight who will be making his second career start and will have his work cut out for him versus a rather strong Giants lineup. Belt should be your cash game first baseman and maybe just the only first baseman you roster tonight due to the value he brings to your lineup.

Other Options: Jesus Aguilar (MIA at ATL) $3,800, Jeimer Candelario (DET vs MIL) $3,600

Keston Hiura - 2B, MIA at Spencer Turnbull  ($5,100)

Surprisingly I have not written much about Hiura this season. It was a slow start for Hiura, but he has slowly got it going at the plate. On Sunday he snapped a six-game hitting streak. Over the last seven games, he is hitting .259 but has hit four home runs to go with a .461 wOBA. He is also barreling the ball 29.4% of the time and a 52.9% hard-hit rate during the seven-game run. He is hitting the ball extremely hard and it shows as he has 16 or more points in four of seven games. Hiura brings a decent floor but a massive ceiling versus Turnbull who has allowed a 51.3% hard-hit rate to RHH this season.

Willi Castro - 3B/SS, DET vs Adrian Houser ($3,700)

Now we get to some of the names that many do not know about or do not usually like to roster. These next few names will have nice value with some serious upside as one-off plays, cash plays, or even apart of sneakier stacks. The first play is Castro who has been quietly crushing it for the Tigers. He has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, including a current four-game hit streak. Over those 12 games, he is hitting .400  with a .438 wOBA, He is stuffing the stat sheet which is resulting in fantasy goodness. He has scored five or more DK points in eight of his last 10 games which much more upside in play.

Erik Gonzalez - 3B/SS vs Dylan Cease ($4,000)

Gonzalez in the midst of one of the most productive, yet quiet seasons in baseball. He is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak into play tonight where he is hitting .387 with a .434 wOBA. He has a 12.8% walk rate and a 41.7% hard-hit rate over the past eight games as well. He has scored seven or more points in seven over his last eight games and brings a really strong floor into tonight's action. He faces Cease tonight who has struggled of late and on the season is allowing a .438 SLG and 44.9% hard-hit rate to RHH.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Victor Reyes - OF, DET vs Adrian Houser ($3,800)

When talking consistency and a cash game staple, you should look no further than Reyes. He has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games for a strong .353 average. He has a .235 ISO and a 45.6% hard-hit rate as well. He is facing Houser tonight who has been struggling of late and has struggled all season vs LHH. Lefties are hitting .365 with a .434 wOBA while allowing 2.5 HR/9. Reyes is very affordable tonight and makes for nice cash gameplay or apart of a really nice and affordable Tigers stack.

Raimel Tapia- OF, COL at Mike Clevinger ($3,300)

I usually only roster Tapia when he is playing in Coors, but at $3300 tonight he is definitely in the discussion. He continues to lead off for the Rockies and continues to produce. On Monday, he snapped a nine-game hitting streak. Over his last 10 games, he is hitting .341 with four extra-base hits. Before Monday's goose egg, Tapia had double-digit DK points in four of five games and scored seven or more points in eight of nine games. He faces Clevinger tonight who has not been his dominating self this season and has allowed LHH to hit .276 with a .483 SLG. Tapia has strong value tonight and can even be a cash game play versus Clevinger.

Corey Dickerson - OF, MIA at Kyle Wright ($3,200)

Dickerson may be one of the stronger values on the entire slate. He has hit safely in his last four games with a .394 wOBA, .471 ISO, and three extra-base hits. It had been a rather disappointing season for Dickerson, but the last four games may start a strong finish to the season. Tonight he faces Wright who is returning to the bigs to make his first start since August 14. In his previous four starts, he allowed at least three runs in three of four starts, while walking 16 batters over 15 innings. He has also struggled versus LHH allowing them to hit .367 with a .471 wOBA. Dickerson is a very strong value tonight, while the Marlins could be quite the sneaky stack as well.

  • San Diego Padres vs Colorado Rockies (Chi Chi Gonzalez, RHP)
  • Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves (Kyle Wright, RHP)
