The Toronto Blue Jays traded for the only missing piece in their lineup when they acquired leadoff hitter Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for minor leaguers Alberto Tirado and Jimmy Cordero, according to MLB.com.
Revere, 27, is in the prime of his career and is under club control through 2017 via arbitration.
Ben Revere will be traded to Blue Jays. @JSalisburyCSN first had Totonto's interest in Revere.

In his third season in Philly, Revere has a .298/.335/.376 batting line with 24 stolen bases in 95 games. He's fourth in the National League and fifth overall in stolen bases. The speedster would be an upgrade for most teams at the top of the lineup.
This move will bring in two minor league pitchers. Tirado, 20, has pitched well at every level throughout his young career. He has a 4-3 record with a 3.23 ERA out of the bullpen at the A-Plus level for the Blue Jays. It will likely take a few more years before he reaches the majors in Philly.
Cordero, 23, is a little closer to the MLB level as he left the Blue Jays while pitching for their Double-A team. He had a 2.92 ERA out of the bullpen in 17 appearances this season. Cordero and Tirardo could be in the future bullpen plans for the Phillies.
