BALLER MOVE: Add in Deep Leagues & as Bye Week Fill-In
OWNED IN: 40% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: When the Saints traded Jimmy Graham this offseason there was a lot of talk about Josh Hill being 'the guy' who would step in. Unfortunately for many fantasy owners that has not happened. Instead veteran Benjamin Watson has emerged as the receiving tight end threat for the Saints.
In the past three weeks Watson has totaled 22 targets with 17 catches (six catches/game), two touchdowns, and 222 receiving yards (74 yards/game). This week the Saints face a New York Giants defense that has allowed the second most fantasy points to opposing tight ends (averaging 17.13 fantasy points/game to tight ends in PPR leagues).
It is likely that the game itself could become a shootout as well. Currently the Saints and Giants defenses are ranked 29th- and 30th-overall which means there are a lot of potential fantasy points to be had in this matchup. While I don't expect Watson to have as big a game as he had in Week 6 (10 catches, 127 yards and one touchdown) anticipate something like a five for 70 kind of game. If you are looking for a bye week fill-in at tight end I'd roll the dice on Benjamin Watson this week, especially in PPR leagues. I'd also recommend picking up Watson in deeper leagues (12+ teams) if he is still available.
