ANALYSIS: After being released by the Patriots, Benjamin Watson was recently signed after Matt LaCosse suffered a sprained MCL against the Giants. Watson made his debut against the Jets on Monday Night and saw five targets. He caught three of them for just 18 yards, but the five targets were nice to see. While he may not even be the fourth receiving option on the Patriots offense, as someone you’re taking a flyer on, he could be worth targeting on the waiver wire this week.

After trading a second-round pick for veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, the Patriots may not be totally confident in Josh Gordon and his health. We all know just how valuable the tight end position can be in New England, and while Watson isn’t someone you’ll start right away, he’s definitely worth stashing in hopes of seeing an increased role in that offense.
