Billy Hamilton’s 2015 season is officially over.
The outfielder will undergo surgery on Friday to repair the capsule in his right shoulder. There is no structural damage, which means that Hamilton could be ready in time for Spring Training. The Cincinnati Reds centerfielder injured the shoulder a month ago but was able to come back and play again. He pinch-hit last Wednesday and stole a base. Hamilton aggravated the shoulder again, which forced the end of his season.

It was a possibility that the Reds would use the 25-year-old strictly to pinch-run but they decided that it was too risky. Since they’re 23 games below .500, there’s no point in risking further injury.
In his third MLB season, Hamilton has a career-worst .226 BA while having a career-high 57 SB with 4 HR and 28 RBI. He’s a speedster that could steal a base anytime he gets on. If he can get the BA and OBP up, his fantasy value will be incredibly high for 2016.
