The Toronto Blue Jays improved their winning streak to 11 games with a 13-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday.
The hottest team in MLB is now one game out of first place in the AL East. The main reason they continue to win is because of their offense. The Blue Jays have scored 88 runs during this 11-game winning streak, an incredible average of 8 runs per game.
All nine batters in the Blue Jays' lineup had hits, according to MLB.com. Chris Colabello and Russell Martin both scored three times and had multiple hits. Ryan Goins and Danny Valencia left the yard with a homer a piece.
"The big one today was Goins," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told MLB.com of the three-run shot in the fourth inning. "He doesn't hit too many of them. ... It's a long lineup. And we're feeling good right now, we're hot. When you're hot, things can go your way. It's a good feeling in there and everybody's confident. It was a fun series."
This victory gave rookie sensation, Eduardo Rodriguez, his first MLB loss after a dominant start to his career. Rodriguez was torched for nine earned runs in just 4.2 IP. Toronto will now head to New York to face off against the Mets in a four-game set.
