ANALYSIS: The Chargers are one of only a handful of teams facing a must-win situation in Week 17, which is what fantasy owners still playing for something want to see. The Bolts won't have the luxury of resting any of their starters. The problem is, one of their key starters may not even be able to play.
Melvin Gordon was in a walking boot after the Week 16 win after suffering an ankle injury, and he may be a game-time decision against the Raiders. With Austin Ekeler limited mainly to special teams due to a broken hand suffered in Week 15, Oliver would be in line for significant carries if Gordon is unable to play in the season finale.
Unfortunately for fantasy owners that are desperate, Oliver may still struggle to produce if he's the lead back against Oakland. The 26-year-old running back did have a season-high eight carries against the Jets, but he managed just nine yards (1.1 yards per tote) and has only 70 yards on 28 attempts in seven games in 2017.
The Chargers may be forced to rely on the passing game and their stout defense if they are going to be able to sneak into the postseason.
