Baller Move: Keep on the waiver wire
Owned In: 32% of Fleaflicker Leagues
Analysis: With a season-ending ACL injury to running back Dion Lewis, an opportunity emerged for Brandon Bolden. What did he do with that opportunity? One carry for negative three yards. There was much speculation heading into Week 10 against the New York Giants about the increased role of Bolden and James White. White failed to impress as well, picking up five yards on one carry. The bulk of the work went to LeGarrette Blount and Tom Brady's arm. Blount rushed the ball 19 times and was targeted twice. Brady attempted 42 passes, and that rate will likely stay consistent the rest of the way.
The New England Patriots are now without Julian Edelman as well. Brady and the Pats have always been famous for spreading the ball around to numerous targets, which could mean more looks for Bolden, but simply not enough to make him a valuable pickup, even in deep 14- and 16-team leagues. Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell will likely benefit the most from Edelman's injury, while Rob Gronkowski will still be Rob Gronkowski. Blount will handle the majority of carries.
Bolden has only had one productive game this season, scoring a receiving touchdown against the Washington Redskins two weeks ago, and is highly dependent on touchdowns to produce at all. The Patriots visit the red zone 5.4 times per game, and average 2.1 touchdowns in the air and 1.0 on the ground. Bolden will likely still not get involved in that efficient mix.
