BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 20% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Although the Mets have once again flattered to deceive and are on the brink of missing the playoffs again, they actually have had a good offensive season and lead the league in wRC+ (weighted runs created plus). A contributor to that has been Brandon Nimmo, who has a career best .282/.403./515 slash line and eight homers in 46 games. Nimmo has been the predominate leadoff hitter for the Mets this year and is on a four game mutli-hit streak.
His excellent OBP is despite a four-year low walk rate of 14.3%, which is still very good. Those on base skills have allowed Nimmo to score 31 runs this season which is 17th most among outfielders. The Mets have seven games in the final week of the season (three against Tampa Bay and four at Washington) so if you're chasing steals in the final week, Nimmo will more than likely be your best bet available on waivers. He's hitting .373 for September and .563 this past week so should also be able to nudge up your collective batting average even at this late stage. Nimmo is certainly someone who should be rostered in many more leagues than he currently is.
