Brandon Phillips (Bicep) Day-To-Day

Brandon Phillips will be day-to-day with a right bicep injury.

Reds manager Bryan Price announced that Phillips was experiencing discomfort after he exited Wednesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

"It's just that it got sore," Price said after the game. "I think he had some problems with it when he laid out [for a ball on Tuesday]. And it lingered."

The veteran second baseman has been one of the rare bright spots on a Reds team that sits near the bottom of the National League. The 34-year-old has a .286 BA and .706 OPS with 9 HR and 44 RBI in 107 games this season. Phillips owns a career .272 BA with 19 HR and 83 RBI over a 162-game period during his 14 MLB seasons.

Phillips still has two more years left on his contract for $27 million, which means a Reds team not going near the playoffs will likely take their time with the infielder.
