ANALYSIS: Heading into the 2019 season, many fantasy owners were looking at a bounce-back season from the Atlanta Falcons star running back. Unfortunately, Devonta Freeman has without a doubt been one of the most disappointing names in fantasy football in 2019. We've seen him split work almost perfectly evenly with Ito Smith in the first two weeks, and the only reason we saw more work out of Freeman last week in Indianapolis, was due to a concussion Smith suffered. If Smith ends up missing in Week 4, a name to keep an eye on is Brian Hill.
Hill is a third-year running back who has flown very much under the radar thanks to being buried in Atlanta behind Freeman, Tevin Coleman, and Smith. With Coleman out of town, there is a chance that Hill could step into that third-string spot for Atlanta. The only real other competition in Atlanta is rookie Qadree Ollison, but he has yet to see a snap in the NFL. Given how poorly Freeman has played and now thanks to a concussion to Smith, Hill is someone worth keeping an eye on or adding in your deeper leagues. He won't be someone you'll look to start, but stashing him where you can and watching how the Falcons backfield shakes out could end up working to your advantage.
