Mark Buehrle is considering playing in his 17th season despite how the current season ends with the Toronto Blue Jays as they’re in the midst of a battle with the Kansas City Royals in the ALCS.
The veteran left-hander put together a 15-win season with a 3.81 ERA. Buehrle’s solid season was part of the reason the Jays were able to be one of the hottest teams during the second half of the season and win the AL East.
He’s come a long way since being drafted in the 18th round so many years ago. He’s unsure when he’ll call it quits.
"I snuck into this league, and I'm going to sneak out," Buehrle told ESPN.com.
Buehrle has yet to pitch in any of the six postseason games for Toronto because he did not make the official 25-man roster. Instead, he’s watched along with the rest of his teammates on the bench.
