After allowing four runs in the first inning, Mark Buehrle registered his 31st complete game of his career in Friday’s victory over the Minnesota Twins.
The Toronto Jays veteran did not give in after a bad start to the game. Buehrle, 36, did not allow a run after that first inning. He only allowed two baserunners as well. This all came after an hour long rain delay.
The left-hander was almost removed, but he turned it around. He now has a 5-4 record with a 5.13 ERA. Buehrle continues to eat up innings as he has pitched 24 1/3 innings in his last three starts.
He racked up three strikeouts on the night without issuing a walk, needing 111 pitches to get the complete game win. His next start will come against Washington on Wednesday.
