Analysis: Even with a .216 BA and .298 OBP, Byung Ho Park is still turning heads by producing a .490 slugging percentage and four HR in his first 15 games in the MLB. Clearly the transition from South Korea to the U.S. isn't all that daunting. With an impressive Isolated Power mark of .275, a HR% of 7%, and considering that he strikes out every 2.8 AB, it is clear that Park is swinging for the fences, and connecting. With a limited sample size of just 51 MLB AB, we can take a look back at Park's days in Korea for closer insight. In his last four Korean seasons, Park combined for 173 HR and 48 SB. We know he can hit for power, but given his all-or-nothing approach to the plate so far in America, we have yet to see Park showcase his other skills. If Park starts to balance out and reach base on hits or walks more often, you can expect a few sneaky steals coming your way.
