BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 43% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: You know who has the lowest ERA in baseball since May 1st? Believe it or not, it's C.C. Sabathia. The big ol' lefty clearly has some tricks up his sleeve and some quality baseball left in the tank. That said, there is a sense that he may come crashing back down to earth.
Sabathia's SIERA and xFIP, which stand at 4.53 and 4.61 respectively, do indicate regression. However these stats, particularly the SIERA, are really just saying that C.C. doesn't have the stuff he once had. Well, duh. However, after watching him pitch myself, C.C. has adjusted to his diminished skill set and is making things work. By introducing a cutter and locating well, he's finding a way to generate weak contact. Only 3.2% of fly balls against C.C. are leaving the yard, and his soft contact percentage (25.4%) is the highest it's been since 2011. It may not always be pretty, and it'll make you sweat, but I think Sabathia can be a good pitcher in 2016.
