Cameron Maybin is rated in the seventh tier of outfielders according to our RotoBaller staff, and is listed as the 61st outfielder overall. It might not seem like there's much value to be had there considering Maybin's career numbers--.251/.313/.366 with very little power and a 21.9% K rate that isn't exactly low--but Maybin's speed makes him an intriguing option for fantasy owners looking to add depth.
Maybin has had only three MLB seasons in which he played over 100 games (2011, 2012, 2015) and stole 40, 26, and 23 bases, respectively, in those seasons. There are plenty of outfielders with 20 SB potential, but fewer approaching 30 SB potential. Considering Maybin has shown 40 SB speed once in his career, and considering the fact that the Tigers are a more aggressive team than the Braves in terms of SB attempts, Maybin could see himself in 30 SB territory before the season ends. If you're looking to add speed to your bench, then Maybin could be a nice find in the very late rounds or in free agency.
