As we hit the middle of conference tournaments, there are a ton of great match-ups to attack. We look at both early and late slate picks.
Without further delay, below are our favorite Daily Fantasy College Basketball picks for FanDuel DFS games for March 10th, 2016.
CBB DFS Guards to Target on FanDuel
Top Play Demetrius Jackson ($8,100):
Jackson is the top playmaker for a Notre Dame team that should score a ton in a game against Duke. Yesterday Duke gave up 89 points including a huge game to point guard Cat Barber. Jackson is a GPP only play as his upside is over 40 fantasy points while he has also had four games under 20 fantasy points in the last 10. In an up-tempo game it is more likely Jackson hits the top end of his projections and could hit 5x value.
Late Plays: Retin Obasahan Alabama; Isaiah Whitehead Seton Hall
Mid Tier: Luke Kennard ($5,800)
Although Duke has gotten a bit healthier, they still only run out a max of seven players. One of those is Kennard who has played over 35 minutes in two straight and has responded with over 30 fantasy points in each. To help augment his immense scoring ability, Kennard has recorded two or more steals in half of his last 10 games which has allowed him to have a higher floor. As mentioned before, Duke has the top rated offense in the NCAA and also one of the worst defenses. Loading up on this game in a GPP or cash game is a great play.
Late Game Plays: Charles Mann Georgia; Isaiah Zierden Creighton
Value: Kasey Hill ($5,100)
Hill is a player who will be extremely low owned in GPP’s due to his low floor, which makes him a much more viable option. The Florida guard has locked himself into 20+ minutes which has helped him post over 18 fantasy points in four of the past six. Although that is not a tremendous ceiling, his low price will allow you to fit in several other studs and not get a dud at this spot. Coming into this game Hill has a remarkable nine straight games with at least one steal which combined with some scoring gives him a good shot to hit value at his price.
Late Game Plays: Daxter Miles West Virginia
CBB DFS Forwards to Target on FanDuel
Top Play: Elgin Cook ($8,400)
Despite being a top 10 team and the number one seed in the Pac-12, Oregon never seems to get any credit. That could change this week and the country will see how good Cook is for the Ducks. Coming into this one, he has over 31 fantasy points in four straight contests which has come in step with his boost to over 35 minutes a game. In what should be a track meet of a game, Cook has perhaps the highest floor of any forward and the upside to hit 50 fantasy points. Fade him in cash or GPP’s at your own risk.
Late Plays: Jakob Poeltl Utah, Georges Niang Iowa St.
Mid Tier: Alex Olah ($6,900)
Because he plays for a non-traditional power in Northwestern, many may not know about Olah’s game. The Wildcats big man is an all-around contributor capable of a double-double as well as multiple assists, blocks and steals. Those give him a floor of around 20 with upside for far more. A few weeks ago against Michigan he had a solid 19 points and 29 fantasy points which is over 4x his value tonight. Another player that will be low owned to attack in GPP’s.
Late Game Plays: Ethan Happ Wisconsin; Chris Clarke Virginia Tech
Value: Isaiah Hicks ($4,600)
Hicks will likely be the lowest owned of the Tar Heels and most will flock towards Brice Johnson. Hicks is certainly a gamble as he had a meager two fantasy points against Duke last game. That said, prior to that game Hicks had eight of nine games in double figure fantasy points including over 16 in five of those. Some will not like his lack of huge box scores, but for just $100 over the minimum he will allow you to fit in stars such as Johnson while giving you solid production.
Game Plays: Mike Tobey Virginia
