ANALYSIS: Cesar Hernandez didn’t run much in the first half, and wasn’t particularly efficient when he did; he was just 6-for-11 on stolen base attempts. Since the break, though, he’s swiped seven bags in 10 tries. He’s continued to hit for average, but another notable improvement in the second half has been his plate discipline. He’s already walked more times in the last month (20) than he did in the season’s first three months (17), which has helped his runs scored total. He’s a solid three-cat contributor as long as that continues.
