Yoenis Cespedes said that he isn’t 100 percent going into Game 1 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
The New York Mets outfielder hurt his shoulder at some point prior or during Game 4 of the NLCS against the Chicago Cubs. Cespedes was injected with a cortisone shot and has rested the shoulder.
"I still feel a little discomfort -- nothing compared to what I felt in Chicago, when I had to leave the game," Cespedes told ESPN Deporte. "It will not prevent me from swinging, but I am not 100 percent. I’m not playing with a full tank. If I can’t hit -- and I do think I will be able to -- I can run, I can field and I can throw. I can do everything else that I know how to do."
Cespedes will likely bath fourth and play centerfield for Game 1 on Tuesday.
