Yoenis Cespedes said he will indeed be ready for Game 1 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
The New York Mets outfielder received a cortisone injection in his banged up shoulder that he suffered at some point on Thursday, which forced him to be removed from Game 4 of the NLCS. Cespedes is the main reason the Mets offense went from the worst in the NL to one of the best.

New York will need the 30-year-old’s bat in the lineup, especially right behind the red-hot Daniel Murphy. Since Murphy has an MLB-record six homers in six straight games, the Royals could potentially look to pitch around him. That will be harder to do is Cespedes is batting behind him.
Cespedes batted .286 in the NLCS with 3 RBI and a crucial SB that helped the team take the lead in Game 3. He plays solid defense and is still the team’s all-around best hitter.
