BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting
ANALYSIS: We know a few things: the Astros don't have a very good team this year, the Astros won't win many games this year, and the Astros don't have a slam dunk closer lined up. What we don't know, is who will actually be getting the saves opportunities here in 2014. Chances are either Jesse Crain or Chad Qualls will get the first crack at the job, and it's tough to imagine any MLB team coming into the season with a true closer by committee situation. It's just too early for that. Qualls put up a quality 2.61 ERA last year, with a 1.22 WHIP, and also accumulated 36 saves between 2009 and 2010. Any closer can get us saves, so it's always a good idea to scout or even stash potential closers in deeper leagues and wait to see how things play out.
