Checking In: Top MLB Prospects from Week 11 and Their Fantasy Baseball Outlooks

What's up RotoBallers? Welcome back to our weekly column on MLB prospects, where we take a look at some of the top rookies in the minors and how they've been performing recently.

This week, we check in on some prospects that have been having extremely good seasons. Josh Bell and Brandon Nimmo are very well known to dynasty leaguers. Austin Voth is likely known to most, but could become more of a household name soon. Finally, Carlos Asuaje is likely on nobody's radar, but should be.

Editors Note: Check out all of RotoBaller's MLB prospects analysis here. You can also head over to the prospect rankings dashboard. Our Rankings Assistant is a handy free tool where you can find team-specific prospect breakdowns, tiered positional rankings, 500+ player outlooks, dynasty ranks and more - all in one easy place.

Top MLB Prospects & Their Fantasy Baseball Outlooks

Carlos Asuaje, 2B/OF, San Diego Padres

Carlos Asuaje was a part of the trade that sent Craig Kimbrel to the Boston Red Sox this offseason. He was very unlikely to reach the majors quickly with Boston, but an opportunity could present itself with San Diego.

The 24-year-old was chosen in the 11th-round of the 2011 Draft, and has overachieved since. He's currently hitting .320/.381/.481 with four HR in Triple-A. He has a couple of double-digit home run seasons in the minors under his belt, as well as a 100-RBI season. He's drawn 23 walks to 31 strikeouts this year, and has shown the propensity and discipline to draw walks.

The great thing about Asuaje is his ability to play multiple positions. He has played second, third, short and left field at times during his minor league career, but he seems to have settled nicely into a role at second base. The Padres figure to be big sellers at the trade deadline, and Asuaje could find himself getting some big league at-bats when that happens. He's overachieved at every level thus far, and he will look to do the same at the MLB level.

Josh Bell, 1B, Pittsburgh Pirates

Josh Bell is looking to make his mark in the MLB, just like he's been doing in the minors. The former second-round pick has been one of the top prospects in the Pirates system, and 2016 should be the year he gets his chance to strut his stuff in the big leagues.

Bell is a career .306/.374/.457 hitter in his minor league career. He has a very good feel for the strike zone, and has used his patience to help produce a .374 OBP.

Bell hadn't developed the power the Pirates thought he had in his bat, but he's really finding that power stroke in 2016. Bell hasn't hit double-digit home runs in a season since 2013, but he's well on his way this season (assuming he doesn't get called up first). This year in Triple-A, Bell is hitting .312 with eight HR and 39 RBI. He has 30 walks and a .398 OBP to go along with those numbers.

John Jaso has been playing first base for the Pirates this season, and his ability to get on base seems to have kept Bell in the minors. Jaso has cooled off as of late, hitting .184 in June. Continued struggles should open the door for Bell to get called up and assume first base duties. Bell projects to be a very good hitter, who can hit .300-plus at the major league level. He will continue to develop power, and could become a 15-plus HR hitter in the majors.

Brandon Nimmo, CF, New York Mets

Brandon Nimmo has been one of the best prospects in the Mets' system for a couple years now, but it seems like he hasn't had the production to justify the accolades. That's changed this season for the 2011 first-round pick.

The 23-year-old is in his first full season at AAA, and he's hitting .330/.411/.529 with five HR and 32 RBI. He's been playing mostly center field, but he's capable of playing all three outfield positions.

The Mets figure to be in a pennant race all season, and have an outfield that consists of Michael Conforto, Curtis Granderson and Yoenis Cespedes. The likelihood of Nimmo being able to find regular at-bats this season are slim, but he should definitely be a September call-up. A hot stretch could allow him to force his way into the lineup when he gets that chance, but expect him to try to make his mark next season.

Austin Voth, RHP, Washington Nationals

While Lucas Giolito seems to get all of the attention when it comes to pitchers in the Washington system, Austin Voth has been chugging along and dominating all levels of the minors.

The 2013 fifth-round pick is in his first season of Triple-A and doesn't seem to be having too much trouble. Voth has a 2.90 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. He also has a 66/17 K/BB ratio in 68.1 innings. He has a 2.73 ERA with 402 strikeouts in 398.2 career innings.

With the Nationals in a tight division race, it's likely not out of the question for them to dangle Voth in trade talks to acquire veteran help of some sort. If they do, Voth could get a chance to become one of the next young pitchers with a bright future in MLB. If they hang on to the hard-throwing Voth, he likely won't get a chance to pitch in the bigs for an extended time until next year. Either way, Voth could have a very bright big league future.
