Chris Bassitt will miss his next start and could land on the DL because of soreness in his pitching shoulder, according to The Bay Area News.
The Oakland A’s starter will undergo an MRI to figure out what the problem might be and whether or not a DL stint is coming for the 26-year-old rookie. Bassitt could very easily be shut down for the year since there’s only a month left.

Bassitt has been one of the better pitchers for the A’s this season. The right-hander owns a 2.82 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 73 1/3 innings.
Bassitt was scheduled to start on Tuesday but the shoulder soreness he suffered during his last start will allow Cody Martin the opportunity to be called up and take the mound. Martin struggled with a 5.33 ERA during his 10 games with Triple-A Nashville ever since he was traded from Atlanta at the deadline.
