ANALYSIS: After jumping onto the fantasy football season in 2018, Chris Herndon showed that he is a weapon and had a nice relationship last year with Sam Darnold. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In his rookie campaign, he finished the season with 39 catches on 56 targets for 502 yards and four touchdowns. In his first five games, he totaled just 47 yards and started in just 12 games in total.
The Jets offense is being run around Le'Veon Bell and has struggled a bit as Darnold has missed a few games with an illness. After spending the start of the season away from the team with a suspension and the team's bye week in Week 5, Herndon was able to return in Week 6 against the Cowboys but was sidelined with a hamstring injury. He is able to return in Week 7 against the Patriots and immediately becomes a nice streaming option. If you have the roster space, pick him up even if you have another tight end. Herndon has legit TE1 upside when he returns as long as Darnold is on the field.
