Chris Sale Strikes Out 14 in Fourth Straight Start With Double-Digit Ks

Chris Sale was dominant yet again on Monday when he struck out 14 batters and allowed one run in eight innings against the strikeout happy Houston Astros.

The Chicago Sox ace has now recorded at least 12 strikeouts in each of his last three outings and 10 or more in his last four. The only run the left-hander allowed came in the fourth inning when the top prospect in MLB, Carlos Correa, beat out an infield single for an RBI.

It was one of only five hits Sale (6-2, 3.04 ERA) allowed along with one walk in what was a third straight victory. He now owns a 1.01 WHIP and a 93/17 K/BB ratio over 74 innings. Sale continues to show why he’s one of the top pitchers in the game while only being 26-years-old.

His next start will be against the Tampa Bay Rays. With Sale at the top of the rotation and an offense that must come alive at some point, Chicago could stay in the AL Central race deep into the season.
