BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: A knee injury is going to cost Derrius Guice some time, and while that injury was thankfully to the non-ACL tear knee, Washington is still likely going to be cautious with the second-year back.
Behind him on the depth chart, Washington has Chris Thompson, Adrian Peterson, and Wendell Smallwood. Smallwood didn't see the field in Week 1. Peterson was a healthy inactive. One of them is going to see an uptick in early down work, but it'll be Chris Thompson who ends up on the field the most of the team's backs.
Thompson is a receiver in a running back's body, and in Week 1 he led the team in targets with 10, hauling in seven of them for 68 yards. He also added three carries for 10 yards. Thompson will probably see around five carries per game with Guice out, but he'll remain a key part of the passing game. His usage gives him a high floor in PPR leagues, and if Thompson can stay healthy he should be startable on a weekly basis in deep leagues and worth a spot start during bye weeks in shallower PPR leagues. Volume is king in fantasy football, and Thompson's catching ability means that he'll see a lot of volume.
