Baller Move: Add in Two-Catcher leagues
Owned in: 1% of Fleaflicker leagues
Analysis: So far this season Christian Bethancourt has just 52 AB and has a .250 BA with a mere .259 OBP. So what gives him any value at all? He has hit four HR in those 52 AB and has a SLG% of .519. That is pretty impressive for a guy who calls the number one pitcher-friendly park in the majors home. It may be his ability to produce defensive gems that got him onto the field, but it is his new found power stroke that will keep him there. Bethancourt has actually thrived at the plate inside Petco with three HR and a SLG% of .594 in 32 Home AB this season. I guess it is easy to hit the ball into the outfield bleachers when you hold an isolated power figure of .269! Bethancourt is slugging .488 against RHP, .636 against LHP, and has a .273/.576 BA/SLG in the month of May in which he has recovered from a sluggish start. Bethancourt is very much a power-move, in more ways than one, as he is available in 99% of leagues.
