ANALYSIS: It turns out that a slightly disappointing Week 1 performance isn't a death sentence, and Clive Walford embodied this lesson with a huge bounce-back game in Week 2. Walford caught just three passes on an encouraging five targets against the Saints to start the year, but at 8.33 YPC and zero touchdowns, he didn't offer noticeable value outside of PPR formats. Against the Falcons, however, the yards per reception remained exactly the same, but he caught six passes on seven targets for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Walford made up 13.2% of Derek Carr's targets in Week 1 and 15.6% in Week 2. Carr has managed 309 passing yards per game so far, so there is plenty of love to go around in Oakland. With such high volume from a pass-friendly offense, Walford has the potential for big performances on a weekly basis.
