Cole Kmet (TE, CHI) - Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED IN: 24% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: There is a thing about Chicago and it is that the Bears have pretty much sucked for most of the season. Not happy enough with the start to their campaign, Chicago moved on from veteran Andy Dalton to rookie Justin Fields at the quarterback position, discovered a young man going through heavy growing pains but still outperforming Dalton, lost Fields to injury, and had to endure Dalton for another week last Thanksgiving Thursday. Immune to the quarterback change, though, was tight end Cole Kmet, who actually enjoyed Dalton's presence on the field.

Kmet had a rough start to the year other than for his Week 1 outing--a TE17, 9.2 PPR point performance against the Rams. Kmet finished that game with a 7-5-42 receiving line, but he went on to have three consecutive subpar games to the tune of 2.1 PPR points at most. The snap share, though, has stayed at 77%+ or higher from Week 3 on and Kmet has finally been able to find his mojo of late. The Week 5-to-8 span wasn't bad (average 7.0 FPPG goof for two TE2 finishes and two more inside the TE3 realm) but the last three weeks are what are pointing in an absolutely beautiful direction for Kmet.

Back in Week 9, Kmet hit double-digit PPR points for the first time this season with an 8-6-87 line for 14.7 fantasy points, and just last Thursday he mimicked that production with an even bulkier 11-8-65 line translating to 14.5 PPR points and another TE1 finish on the week. Kmet has had his fair share of duds this season, yes, but he's finally gearing up and playing to reasonable TE2 levels with upside for more ROS. Not the worst option to stream and much less to roster and start weekly by those on deeper leagues.
