ANALYSIS: Cordarelle Patterson finds himself thrust into a key role in Oakland's passing attack after Amari Cooper left Week 12's game with both a concussion and sprained ankle while Michael Crabtree left it in a flurry of punches and penalty flags that resulted in a one-game suspension. Patterson caught three passes for 72 yards against the Broncos and should see an expanded role in the team's offense after a week of first-team practice reps.
Oakland's opponent this week, the New York Giants, are giving up the 12th-most points to opposing wide receivers this season. With Janoris Jenkins likely out, the Raiders passing attack could find a lot of space to work with even without their top two receivers. If there's any downside, it's that the Giants struggles against tight ends could result in an increase in usage for Jared Cook, but Patterson has upside even with that factored in. He's not likely to be a long-term option for you, but as a one-week replacement for an injured receiver or someone with a bad matchup? Fantasy owners could do much, much worse. Consider him a streamable WR4/flex play in Week 13.
