Back by popular demand, my second installment of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS article here at RotoBaller! If you are reading this, you must be missing sports quite a bit but have found solace in DFS ESports! For those that are new to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS set up, you are not alone. I dabbled in Call of Duty quite a bit when I was younger, and Counter-Strike resembles COD quite a bit in my opinion.
You have teams of five and the objective is to plant a bomb while the other team defends. It’s a pretty simple objective so let’s not try to over-analyze things! There are 30 rounds per match (the first to win 16 rounds takes the match) and they play best 2 out of 3. There is no respawning so once you die, you are gone till the next round so Kill Death Ratios are very important to look at it when crafting your roster.
Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS advice, analysis, and picks, for contests on DraftKings at 12:00 PM, April 1st, 2020. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @rdr1634.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - DFS Basics
From a DFS perspective, you have 6 total spots with 1 of those being a captain spot which gets 1.5X points. With any shooting game, kills and deaths are a big focal point in CSGO DFS. Kills get you 1.5 points and assists get you 1 point while a death gets you -1. This is where the K/D (kill to death ratio) comes into play and is something that you should really pay close attention to.
For rostering, we will want to find guys who can limit the death total and not completely sink our lineups just because of reckless play and die more frequently. Additional bonuses are handed out but the biggest thing to focus on is the kill to death ratio. One overlooked stat is the game length adjustment stat. This is an adjustment that takes a player score, gets multiplied by 30 and then divided by the number of rounds played.
When it comes to roster construction, we will obviously look to fill the captain spot with someone who provides a solid floor but one who can have the most upside as well. For this article, I will look at the different matchups, give a player pool and make some recommendations as to who I like on the slate.
Wednesday's Games: ESL- FP
- VP +260 @ G2 -345
- Orgless +110 @ Dignitas -140
- MIBR -135 @ Gen G +105
- Furia +165 @ Evil G. -210
VP +260 @ G2 -345
G2 is the largest favorite on this slate and it will be hard to not get pieces from their side of this game. VP has dropped 2 games so far and is tied for last in Group C of the ESL Pro League. In addition, they have dropped their last 5 matches altogether while G2 has won 3 of their last 5 matches.
G2 is ranked #3 overall in the CSGO rankings while Virtis. Pro is ranked #20 overall. The 2 bright points on this VP team have been Qikirt and Jame as they both have been above a 1 Kill/ Death ratio. For a large tournament standpoint, they could be viable options but they are more of risky low owned plays on this slate.
G2 has some really good plays in huNter and kennyS as they have both posted a 1.26 K/D ratio during the ESL Pro League Season 11. Those 2 plays would be core plays to build around for both cash and tournament lineups.
VP (K/D Ratio)
- Qikirt 1.18
- Jame 1.09
- Buster .96
- Adren .93
- Sanji .88
G2 (K/D Ratio)
- HuNter 1.26
- Amanek 1.04
- Nexa 1.07
- Kennys 1.26
- Jackz 1.03
Orgless +110 @ Dignitas -140
Both Orgless and Dignitas have won 2 out of their last 5 games and have actually split their last 2 head to head matches, with both matches going to the 3rd game each time. Dignitas is ranked #66 in the world while Orgless is ranked #34 in the world so with Vegas leaning towards Dignitas, my gut is saying to go against Vegas and look to use Orgless.
Orgless looks to be in better form than Dignitas when looking at their K/D ratios during this event when compared to their last 3 months. Infinite, Yay and Wardell are the 3 main targets from this Orgless team to focus on. All of them are carrying above a 1.10 K/D ratio and have 50 kill potential.
F0rest looks to be the one constant player for Dignitas as he has posted an above 1 K/D ratio in all 4 games that Dignitas has played in the Flashpoint League. He would be the only one worth looking at from this Dignitas squad and only looks to be a true one-off.
Orgless (K/D Ratio)
- Wardell 1.13
- Yay 1.11
- Infinite 1.11
- Subroza 1.03
- FNS .96
Dignitas (K/D Ratio)
- Forest 1.09
- GeT_RiGHt 1.01
- Xizt .98
- GuardiaN .90
- Friberg .83
MIBR -135 @ Gen. G +105
Both teams enter this matchup winning 3 out of their last 5 games while MIBR has a victory over Gen. G in the last 30 days (Won 2-0). Gen G. is ranked #16 in the world while MIBR is ranked #24 overall and Vegas is leaning towards the MIBR side of this game.
Fer has been leading this MIBR squad as of late with a 1.27 K/D ratio while FalleN and -kNgV are all above a 1.10 K/D ratio. With MIBR playing well, it might be best to ride the hot hand and use them as a tournament stack. If you do, make sure to get Fer into your lineup! Gen. G has seen their better days with 3 of their players performing well under their usual K/D ratio.
Kootsa went off for 70 kills against Envy but outside of that performance, the Gen. G squad has been relatively quiet from a kill perspective. Kootsa and Automatic are the 2 to give consideration but it is best to probably fade this team altogether.
MIBR (K/D Ratio)
- Fallen 1.13
- -KNGV 1.28
- Meyern 1.24 (62% headshot)
- Fer 1.08
- Taco .98
Gen. G (K/D Ratio)
- Kootsa 1.13
- Automatic 1.12
- Daps 1.01
- sOm .98
- BnTet .96
Furia +165 @ Evil Genuises -210
This match should be the most competitive match of the day and I think Furia keeps this game close. Furia has won 4 out of their last 5 matches and is ranked #11 overall while Evil Geniuses are ranked #7 in the world but have dropped 3 out of their last 5 matches.
Evil Geniuses looks to have a slight edge in this matchup but it would not be shocking to see Furia with the upset. Kscerato has been on fire for Furia during the ESL Pro League Season 11 and is a viable option for the captain spot. He has gotten 47 more kills than deaths in his last 2 matches and carries over a 1.3 K/D ratio.
Hen1 and yuurih serve as good stacking options for this Furia team if you are looking to stack them. Evil Geniuses have really been in terrible form as of late and the majority of their players have been floating just above the 1 K/D ratio line. The main targets to look at are CeRq, Brehze, and tarik but it might be best to just use them as a bunch of one-offs.
Furia (K/D Ratio)
- Kscerato 1.32
- Hen1 1.09
- Vini .92 (61% headshot)
- Yuurih 1.01
- Art .98
Evil G. (K/D Ratio)
- Brehze 1.23 (52 % headshot)
- Cerq 1.15
- Ethan 1.15
- Stanislaw .97
- Tarik 1.05
