BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 46% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The time is officially here for all you Courtland Sutton fans. Whether you drafted him in your dynasty rookie drafts or grabbed him in the last few rounds of redraft leagues, this is the best opportunity he’s getting all year. Demaryius Thomas is officially a Texan and the rookie out of SMU has shown flashes here and there so far this year, and has even hauled in a couple touchdowns as well. The biggest issue for Sutton and fantasy production, was the opportunity and getting somewhat buried in Denver behind two veteran receivers.
At 6’3” 218 pounds, Sutton has the protypical body of an X receiver in the NFL. Sanders’ role doesn’t really change without Thomas, but this is the best case scenario for Sutton to produce. Case Keemun has proven to be a serviceable quarterback so far this year and the volume should be good enough for Sutton to put up potentially WR2 numbers. I would wait a few weeks before starting Sutton, but the upside due to his situation and talent as a prospect is really hard to ignore.
I typically don’t like to spend a lot of FAAB on wide receivers in redraft leagues, but if you’re getting desperate with injuries or bye weeks, don’t be afraid to pay up and throw Sutton on your bench, or even in your Flex spot this week.
