D.J. Augustin (PG, DET) - NBA Waiver Wire Pickup

BALLER MOVE: Add in all leagues

OWNED: 56% of Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball leagues

ANALYSIS: D.J. Augustin started the season by turning heads, when Stan Van Gundy logged him over thirty minutes in his first two games. Then Brandon Jennings changed SVG's mind. Once the Josh Smith fiasco was finally sorted out, some felt that Jennings was destined to face the same fate. Then the Pistons started flourishing without Smith with Jennings being a key cog to the turnaround. Then Jennings' Achilles blew. Considering the Pistons are now fighting for a playoff spot, D.J. Augustin is going to be relied on heavily (especially after realizing Spencer Dinwiddle is his main competition at the point). Augustin, considering his 35 point, 8 assist (plus 5/9 from three and 6/6 from the line) in his first game post-Jennings, seems ready to handle the responsibilities. While he won't be putting these numbers up on a regular basis, there's no reason why he can't approach Jennings line of 15.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.5 threes on a regular basis.
