BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: Imagine operating a machine fully built on faulty pieces and mechanisms. That's what D.J. Augustin is doing to do in Houston. Actually, not only that but also on Houston's second unit. Ugh... Augustin came to Rocket Town when Milwaukee traded for P.J. Tucker in mid-March and he's played eight games already for the Rockets. He's become Houston's bench-point, is playing 20+ MPG, and although he struggled a bit early he's finally getting it right.
Any player doing it in Houston is poised to fail these days. As simple as that. And a point-guard looking to handle an offense built around kinda-mediocre players is always going to struggle. Good for Augustin, though, he can do stuff by himself, and that's clearly benefiting his game and fantasy upside. Looking at Augustin's last five games, he's been able to put up a nice 13-2-3 line that would read an even better 14-3-4 had it not been for a lowly game on Friday against Boston.
Augustin is relying on shooting to make things work for him and his fantasy GMs. He's hit a triple in five of his last six games, going from 1 to 2 (three times), then 3 against Brooklyn on March 31. Augustin is pretty much a 10-to-20-point scorer off the bench, has relatively nice numbers on the boards for a PG, and he's making the most of his playing time when it comes to dishing out dimes considering his teammates. The shooting percentages are sublime at 53% in the last five (and 64% from the floor in the first four of those), and the turnovers aren't overboard, which is also a nice addition to his upside. Augustins has been super-efficient on a per-minute basis since Mar. 26, posting up a 1.06 FP/min mark way above league-average (0.90).

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
