DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider
Danny Duffy vs. TEX (DK - $7,800, FD - $8,500)
Royals starter Danny Duffy isn't having the greatest season, but against the Rangers, he can put up some big fantasy numbers. The Rangers rank just 25th in wOBA versus left-handed pitching this season at .296. They also strike out more than any other team against lefties, with a whopping 27.0% K-rate against southpaws this year. The Rangers are a prime target any time they face a lefty, and at pitcher-friendly Kauffman Stadium, Duffy should have no problem handling them. He comes in at a low price for his potential.
Madison Bumgarner at SD (DK - $10,500, FD - $11,000)
Madison Bumgarner is back and ready to go on Saturday, and there's no better matchup he could ask for than the Padres. The Padres are the worst lineup in baseball against lefties, with a .276 wOBA. Bumgarner is priced a tick below the other elite starters, yet he'll be just as effective, if not more. Bumgarner had a 2.59 FIP in his four starts before his injury.
DFS Infielders to Consider
Catcher (C)
Tyler Flowers vs. ARI (DK - $3,200, FD - $2,800)
Braves catcher Tyler Flowers has been killing the ball this season, putting up a 126 wRC+ in his 60 games played. He has a great matchup against Patrick Corbin, who has a 4.71 ERA. If you want to go cheap at the catcher slot, Flowers is your guy.
First Base (1B)
Danny Valencia vs PHI (DK - $3,800, FD - $3,200)
Danny Valencia is a fantastic value play at first any time he faces a lefty. Valencia destroys left-handed pitching, as evidenced by his 128 wRC+ against them in 2017. There aren't many lefties that are an easier matchup than Derek Holland, who has a 5.01 ERA and a 5.55 FIP this year. A Mariners stack is a smart idea, but even by himself Valencia is more than worth it.
Second Base (2B)
Joe Panik at SD (DK - $3,600, FD - $2,800)
Joe Panik is a very cheap option at second base, yet he can be incredibly effective on Saturday. Panik bats second against righties, which is a great spot for both runs and RBIs. Against Padres starter Jhoulys Chacin, he should have the opportunity for lots of those. Chacin's got an ugly 4.32 ERA, while Panik's got an .808 OPS in his last month. That's a combination for lots of production.
Shortstop (SS)
Andrelton Simmons vs. TB (DK - $3,700, FD - $2,900)
Andrelton Simmons is one of baseball's most improved hitters this season, yet DraftKings and FanDuel are yet to catch up with him in their pricing. He's an insane value when you take a look at his .861 OPS in the last month. Simmons has a nasty power/speed combo with 9 homers and 13 steals this year, so there's lots of ways for him to put points on the board. Pounce on him while he's still this cheap.
Third Base (3B)
Todd Frazier vs. SEA (DK - $3,900, FD - $3,300)
Todd Frazier is a threat to go deep any time he plays at home, at the hitter-friendly US Cellular Field. He faces Felix Hernandez, who is not the same guy he once was, as he's got a 4.44 ERA with an even worse 5.10 FIP. This is largely because of his 1.95 HR/9, which means that he's serving up an insane amount of dingers. Out of the White Sox cleanup spot, Frazier can pick up some ribbies along with any home runs he hits.
DFS Outfielders to Consider
Chris Taylor vs. MIA (DK - $4,100, FD - $3,400)
As the Dodgers leadoff hitter, Chris Taylor can be a very valuable play on Saturday. Leading off, he will get more plate appearances than anybody in the lineup, which is more opportunities for fantasy points. Taylor has been doing it all this year with 10 homers and 11 steals, with a 127 wRC+. Marlins starter Jose Urena has an awful 4.97 FIP and 5.45 xFIP, so he's an easy target.
Matt Kemp vs. ARI (DK - $3,200, FD - $2,700)
Braves outfielder Matt Kemp is coming in at punt-level prices, which is crazy for how he's done this year. Kemp is batting .293/.340/.486 with 12 homers. It will be tough to ever find a cleanup hitter for this cheap, and he's got a great opportunity behind Freddie Freeman.
Lorenzo Cain vs. TEX (DK - $3,700, FD - $3,200)
In the last month, LoCain is absolutely wrecking the ball, hitting .303 with a .903 OPS and seven homers. That looks like the MVP candidate Cain that we've seen before, so there's no reason he should be this cheap. He's the centerpiece of the Royals lineup batting third, so get him before his price continues to rise.
