We have a rather small seven game slate to kick off our DFS week. There are a few clear top pitching options on the mound tonight, and you will need to find some savings if you are roster one of them. Despite the small slate, there are some real favorable match ups for hitters, and plenty of contests to be won.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/7/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider
Jake Arrieta, CHC @ SFG (DK - $11,600, FD - $9,800)
Arrieta has had four striaght starts that have all been very strong, not allowing more than five hits in any of those four games. Tonight he is at San Francisco, which is one of the best pitchers parks in the league, up against a Giants team who only strikes out 19.2% of the time vs right-handed pitching. Simply put, the Giants don't strikeout all that often but they also don't have the best offense. Over this last four game stretch, he hasn't given up more than two earned runs. He may not have the strikeout upside tonight, but the park factor, and facing a weak offensive team, makes him a strong option for cash games.
Ervin Santana, MIN vs MIL (DK - $9,500, FD - $9,300)
Santana is coming off of his fourth complete game this year. The Twins veteran is showing he still has what it takes to get it done, and he is viable in all formats tonight. He is at home facing off against Milwaukee, who strikes out, 25.6% of the time vs right-handed pitchers, which is dead last in the league. Big upside going for him tonight, and is in a spot to rack up some points quickly. Not a surefire safe option for cash, but slightly cheaper than the top arms, which can help you get some bigger bats in your lineups.
DFS Infielders to Consider
Welington Castillo - C, BAL @ LAA (DK - $3,700, - FD - $3,100)
Castillo was out of the lineup on Sunday, so he should be set to return behind the plate tonight. He has two home runs in his last four games, and is riding a seven game hitting streak. Great production coming from him since the All-Star Break, and is playable in all formats. Castillo has a 100 wRC+ and a .189 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching.
Josh Bell - 1B, PIT vs DET (DK - $3,900 - FD - $3,300)
Bell had a six game hitting streak going last week, and is slightly under priced on this short slate we have. Bell comes into this game with a .344 wOBA and a .219 ISO this season vs right-handed pitching. Bell is good for any format tonight, and is facing off against a pitcher who is giving up a .350 wOBA or higher to both lefty and righty hitters.
Kolten Wong - 2B, STL @ KAN (DK - $3,400, FD - $2,600)
Wong comes into this game with a .334 wOBA and a .135 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. Wong also brings a good amount of savings, which is always nice on a short slate of games, you can really spend up for the hitters you want. Wong carries a low 14% strikeout rate vs RHP, so he isn't wasting his at-bats.
Mike Moustakas - 3B, KAN vs STL (DK - $4,100, FD - $3,500)
Always like to target Moustakas when he is up against a right-handed pitcher, since this season while at home vs RHP, he has a .366 wOBA and a .240 ISO. Really strong numbers for a player on the surging Royals. He is viable in all formats tonight, could be a bit of a sneaky stack if you want a lot Royals bats vs the Cardinals Ace.
Tim Beckham - SS, BAL @ LAA (DK - $4,600, FD - $3,000)
Beckham is having some real success after being traded to Baltimore from Tampa. He has a six game hitting streak going right now, he has five multi hit games over his last six, and he has three home runs over his last six games. Woah, what a set of stats. He has new life after the trade, and on this short slate, he is as close to a must play as there is.
DFS Outfielders to Consider
Kyle Schwarber - OF, CHC @ SFG (DK - $4,200, FD - $3,100)
Normally you wouldn't think to target a lefty vs lefty match up, but Schwarber is up against Matt Moore, who is giving up a .454 wOBA this season to left-handed hitters. That is terrible, and with the power upside that Schwarber brings, you can't pass that up. He makes a great one off in tournaments tonight.
Brian Goodwin - OF, WAS vs MIA (DK - $3,800, FD - $3,200)
Goodwin is a bit of a reverse splits hitter, he has a .469 wOBA and a .306 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers. Big time numbers from a player who isn't that expensive tonight. The Nationals look like they might be the chalk offense of the night, and Goodwin is a good way to get some exposure to it.
Justin Upton - OF, DET @ PIT (DK - $5,400, FD - $4,200)
Upton is one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past week. Upton has five home runs in his last eight games, and had a seven game hitting streak last week. The Tiger were sellers at the deadline, but Upton is still bringing his best every game. He has a .358 wOBA and a .234 ISO vs right-handed pitching this season. Viable in all formats tonight.
