Daily Fantasy Football Picks and Advice: Week 3 NFL DFS DraftKings Lineups and Sleepers

Welcome to the Week 3 edition of Daily Fantasy Football DraftKings Targets. An introduction is not really all that necessary, as the title of this DFS article pretty much sums up what is going to be discussed.

It's important to identify players with good match ups, but we also want to look at their DraftKings' prices so we can hopefully find low-cost, but high-production players for your lineups.

I will be providing one top DFS play and one DFS value play at each position for Week 3 NFL DraftKings action. Let's get down to it.

DraftKings Picks at Quarterback for Week 3 DFS

Tom Brady (vs JAX, $7,700)

This may seem rather obvious at this point in the season, but Tom Brady is the top QB play this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He just embarrassed the Buffalo Bills, who look good in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts and Andrew Luck. So far this season, Brady has thrown seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also has over 750 passing yards and is averaging almost 30 fantasy points per game. It seems that Brady and his top weapons (Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski) are not going to let off of the gas pedal, as they all feel as if they have something to prove this season after the Deflategate incident. Coach Belichick will continue to call the right plays, and the Patriots offense will continue to execute. Of course, this recommendation is not contrarian at all, so it works better in 50/50 contests.

Brandon Weeden (vs ATL, $5,200)

Brandon Weeden is going to step into the Cowboys' offense and look to keep them in playoff contention until Tony Romo returns from injury. Weeden looked great in the brief action he saw against the Philadelphia Eagles, completing all seven of his passes. He threw the only offensive touchdown of the game to Terrance Williams, and he should be airing the ball out quite a bit against the Atlanta Falcons. The Cowboys' defense looked unstoppable against the Eagles, but the Falcons and Julio Jones are definitely going to find the end zone. That being said, the Cowboys will likely either be losing this game or barely winning near the end. Either way, Weeden will still be relevant. He makes for a great GPP play this week at his sub-$6,000 price tag. After all, the three-headed monster the Cowboys have developed in their backfield cannot do all the heavy lifting.

DraftKings Picks at Running Back for Week 3 DFS

Le'Veon Bell (at STL, $7,500)

Le'Veon Bell is returning from his suspension this week, and he should be ready to go against the St. Louis Rams. The Pittsburgh Steelers hammered the San Francisco 49ers last week, as DeAngelo Williams rushed for three touchdowns. Granted, Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown will definitely be playing catch this week, but Le'Veon Bell will be emphasized in the Steelers' offense. Hopefully, a majority of DFS players will be avoiding him this week, as it is difficult to tell how he will respond after two weeks off. It is likely that he will not have much adjusting to do before finding the end zone. He is a great play in any format this week.

James Starks (vs KC, $3,000)

Eddie Lacy went down last week against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle sprain. He was questionable to return, but did not, so James Starks got the nod at RB. While the injury is not serious, it is likely that the Green Bay Packers will want to play it safe with their star RB, so he could definitely sit out this week. Last week, Starks tore up the Seahawks' defense for 95 yards on only 20 carries. Aaron Rodgers really has not thrown the ball all that much so far this year, and Starks will be relied on heavily in the second half of this game after the Packers take the lead. He could see anywhere from 20-25 carries, and he should easily return value.

DraftKings Picks at Wide Receiver for Week 3 DFS

Jarvis Landry (vs BUF, $6,400)

Jarvis Landry looks like he is going to be a reception machine for the Miami Dolphins this season. Obviously, Julio Jones and Antonio Brown look like they are unstoppable and should be used if salary cap is not a concern, but Landry has performed well and his price tag is still relatively low. On the season, he has 16 receptions for 163 receiving yards and a special teams touchdown. Catching the ball eight times a game is going to eventually lead to a receiving touchdown for Landry. Tom Brady scorched the Buffalo Bills' defense last week, and while Ryan Tannehill (if he plays) will likely not throw for 400 yards, Landry should be able to catch another 5-10 balls and possibly score a touchdown.

Cole Beasley (vs ATL, $3,300)

Cole Beasley is going to go "Beastley" mode this week against the Atlanta Falcons. Last week, he did not look great, but neither did Tony Romo, Sam Bradford, Jordan Matthews, Jason Witten, Devin Street... you get the point. Brandon Weeden is starting this week, as Tony Romo went down with a brutal collarbone injury last week, and Weeden makes for a great pair with Beasley in GPP games. The Cowboys are going to be looking to throw the ball short a lot this week, as Weeden needs a little bit of a confidence boost before they unleash him. This is exactly where Beasley excels. Obviously, Terrance Williams makes for a solid play at the WR position as well with Dez Bryant out, but Beasley is a lot more contrarian and should be able to catch around 5-10 balls. He also has the ability to find the end zone if he can break free. The sky is the limit here.

DraftKings Picks at Tight End for Week 3 DFS

Rob Gronkowski (vs JAX, $7,400)

Rob Gronkowski is not going to be stopped. King Kong did not show up for the Buffalo Bills, as Gronk caught a mere seven balls for 113 yards and a touchdown. It seems as if the 6'7" tight end for the New England Patriots is going to find the end zone almost every week. Tom Brady loves throwing the ball up to Gronk, and there is no team in the league that can cover him. He is a freak of nature, and despite his huge price tag for a TE, he is well worth it. It is very hard to find a TE that is likely to score between 20-30 fantasy points.

Richard Rodgers (vs KC, $2,500)

Richard Rodgers makes for a great GPP play this week at the TE position against the Kansas City Chiefs. Aaron Rodgers may possibly be down a RB and/or a WR (Davante Adams), so it is feasible that he will be looking toward Richard Rodgers a lot more this week. Rodgers already plays a big role in the red zone for the Green Bay Packers, and his usage so far indicates he'll catch between 3-7 balls on a weekly basis. If he finds the end zone, like he did against the Seahawks, he will easily pay off his sub-$3,000 price tag. Do not use him in cash games.
