Daily Fantasy Golf DraftKings Picks (PGA DFS): CareerBuilder Challenge

Welcome back RotoBallers. In this column, I will be providing you with my CareerBuilder Challenge PGA DFS lineup picks for DraftKings. My goal as always is to help put together your optimal daily fantasy golf lineups.

The 23-year-old Justin Thomas has been tearing it up lately. Two weeks ago he won the SBS Tournament of Champions in Maui, and this past Sunday won the Sony Open played in Honolulu. Thomas didn't only win the Sony Open, he dominated. Thomas opened the tournament shooting a 59, and if that wasn't impressive enough, he went on to shoot a 72- hole record, 27- under, 253. During the two events played in Hawaii, Thomas was -49, won by a combined 10 strokes, and won $2.3 million. His rounds were 67-67-67-69-59-64-65-65. If only every Tournament were played in Hawaii.

As for the European Tour, 251st world ranked, Graeme Storm beat Rory McIlroy in a playoff to win the South Africa Open. Storm's win came eighty-three days after losing his European Tour card by €100. If those two facts weren't crazy enough, Storm was given a reprieve after Patrick Reed failed to compete in enough events.

As you can surely tell, the name of this tournament is uninspiring, and there are only two big time players in the field, Patrick Reed and Phil Mickselson. The field is that weak. Jason Dufner is the defending champion and will be looking to defend his title. Unless you are a big time golf fan, you will not be watching any golf this weekend. Luckily the tournament can say its golf course will look terrific in sunny Southern California. With this being early on in the season, I will not be looking at stats for another week or two.

Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)

Build a lineup with one or two of the following:

Phil Mickelson $10,800

Got to go with the hometown player in this one. It's also nice to know Mickelson can go on a birdie rampage in any round. He's won this tournament twice in his career, and  hasn't missed a cut here in the last 10 years.

Bill Haas $10,500

He's won this tournament twice. He's fresh off of a T13 finish at Sony Open. Of 54 rounds played at this tournament, Haas has shot under- par in 51 of them.

Francesco Molinari $10,300

Molinari hasn't played yet this season. Last year he finished 9- under, T62.  I've picked him many times in the past so why not pick him again.

Middle Cost Players - CareerBuilder Challenge PGA DFS Picks

Webb Simpson $8,200

The former U.S. Open champion played well last week at the Sony Open finishing T13, 13- under. Last year at this tournament he finished T17, 16- under. I expect Simpson to continue his strong start at a tournament he's had success on.

Brian Harman $7,600

Harman kicked off his season with a strong showing at the Sony Open, 12- under, T20. Last year at this tournament, he finished 18- under, T11.

David Lingmerth $7,300

The Swede could be a sleeper this week. He was under the radar last week finishing T49, 8- under. He lost this tournament last year in a playoff to Dufner, and I expect his game to improve on a course he likes.

Low Cost Players - CareerBuilder Challenge PGA DFS Picks

Ollie Schniederjans $6,900

He is one of my favorite players on tour because he doesn't wear a hat. Anyways, he played fine last week, T27, 11-under. I expect a good tournament from him, but don't expect him to finish top five.

Jason Bohn $6,300

I like how Bohn can drive the ball efficiently. He missed the cut last year at this even, which is not something that should happen this time around.
