NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, October 22nd
Artem Anisimov (C, CHI)
DraftKings - $5,200, FanDuel - $5,000, FantasyAces - $4,600
If you are looking for a player safe in all formats look no further than Anisimov tonight. His price always seems to sit in the mid tier and the floor is always high as he skates on a line with MVP Patrick Kane and Rookie of the Year Artemi Panarin. The upside is also there in matchups like tonight's where he faces a Leafs team that is allowing an average of 3.5 goals per game.
Vladimir Tarasenko (W, STL)
DraftKings - $7,700, FanDuel - $7,900, FantasyAces - $5,900
After back to back 70+ point seasons Tarasenko will look to take the next step. He is ultra talented and will have a legitimate shot at the scoring title if he keeps up the he has started the season with. He has scored four goals and added two assists and leads the league with 26 shots on goal. He gets another great matchup on Saturday as the Blues go on the road to face a Flames team who has allowed 20 goals in their first five games. He is an elite play in any format, especially on FanDuel where he is the 5th most expensive winger.
Erik Johnson (D, COL)
DraftKings - $5,200, FanDuel - $4,600, FantasyAces - $3,800
He is a little pricey on DraftKings costing you 10% of your salary cap but at just 8% on FanDuel and FantasyAces he makes a terrific play in all formats. He started the year with three points in his first two games and while he has cooled off with no point in his last two games he is till providing fantasy value. He is averaging over two blocks and three shots per game on the season.
Stacking Option
Tampa Bay Lightning 2 - Alex Killorn, Tyler Johnson, Nikita Kucherov
The Lightning let us down on Thursday which makes them a great low owned GPP play tonight as people will still be crusty. Dig even deeper and roster the second line who are together for a second season and are ready to explode. They face a Senators team that has seen each of their first four games reach the over and have allowed an average of four goals per game. Look for another high scoring game Saturday night.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
