RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyAces. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Tuesday, October 25 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.

Tonight we have a large 11 game slate with just two teams(PHI & CGY) playing on back to back nights. There is a nice mix of top goalies and backups filling in with great matchups making it easy for some big time stacks. Let's dig in.

NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Tuesday, October 25 

Mark Scheifele (C, WPG)

DraftKings - $7,300, FanDuel - $7,300, FantasyAces - $5,550

He has increased his point totals in each of the last three years and will look to make the next step this season and help the Jets to the playoffs. He is off to a great start with six points in the first five games while getting over 20 minutes of ice time on the to line and top powerplay unit. The rising salary combined with a low shot attempts per 60 total has him a GPP play only tonight with big multi point upside against the Stars who have struggled defensively allowing over three goals per game.

Kyle Okposo (W, BUF)

DraftKings - $6,100, FanDuel - $6,200, FantasyAces - $5,400

Playing on the Sabres top line Okposo has recorded three points in his first three games. He carries an increased role with his new team as they will be without Jack Eichel and Evander Kane for an undisclosed amount of time. He comes with a nice floor as he is averaging over 16.5 shot attempts per 60 min and while he didn't record a point last game he did register six shots on goal. He is safe in all formats with a mid tier price and matchup vs. the Flyers who are prone to high scoring games.

 Ivan Provorov (D, PHI)

DraftKings - $3,600, FanDuel - $4,000, FantasyAces - $2,500

When constructing cash lineups using at least one punt play makes sense and early in the season they aren't hard to find. The Flyers rookie blue liner is one of these values. He has been playing right around 20 minutes early in the season and while the shot totals aren't quite there yet he is averaging two blocks per game and is getting big minutes on the powerplay.

Stacking Option

St. Louis Blues PP1 - Vladimir Tarasenko, Alex Steen, Paul Stastny, Jaden Schwartz

Everything lines up for a big night from the Blues powerplay tonight. They have scored six goals with the man advantage in their first six games and get a matchup vs. the Flames who are averaging the fifth most penalty minutes per game(13.2) this season. The Flames are also playing the back end of  back to back on the road.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
