NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, October 29

Sidney Crosby (C, PIT)

DraftKings - $8,000, FanDuel - $8,400, FantasyAces - $6,100

He has scored in both games since returning to the lineup after an injury scare in the pre season and is back to his elite self. He is averaging over 23 SA/60 and gets a great matchup vs. the Flyers who take close to the most penalties in the league which should give the Penguins powerplay plenty of opportunities.

Brayden Schenn (W, PHI)

DraftKings - $5,500, FanDuel - $5,700, FantasyAces - $5,000

A couple games down on the third line may be exactly what Schenn needed. He has put up back to back multi point efforts which has prompted the coaching staff to place him back on the top line with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds. The trio also plays the top powerplay unit together.

 Ryan Suter (D, MIN)

DraftKings - $5,400, FanDuel - $5,800, FantasyAces - $5,350

Suter has been on fire offensively to start the season with nine points in eight games including three multi point efforts. He doesn't provide much of a floor for a D man in terms of blocks or SA/60 but has recorded four shots in three of his last four games.

Stacking Option

Minnesota Wild - Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu, Mikael Granlund

Minnesota has been somewhat of a surprise team to start the year leading the Central Division with a 5-2-1 record. They have a Top 5 offense and will face a struggling Stars team who is giving up over three goals per game to start the year. Target the Wild's top line tonight as they also all get time on the powerplay as well.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
